Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"An understanding of how students are thinking outside of my own institution, outside of the U.S. Invaluable friendships that continue to be the source of so much happiness and support even from afar. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile. I was able to relax and not take any science courses (I am a science major) while I was abroad so that was very rejuvenating and a great change in pace. "
A student Wellesley College
"This was absolutely worthwhile. I learned about how much I'd grown since coming to college. I was able to be more independent and live in a city I'd always wanted to live in. I made lifelong friends, became closer to family living in the area, and got to solidify what I want to do in the future."
A student Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I was able to gain new ideas about the world from talking to people who grew up in another country."
Melanie Andrews Berea College
"I was challenged in the tutorial system and grew academically while also getting to experience everything that makes Oxford such a special place. "
A student Wellesley College
"I loved being centrally located in London. The city itself is just so amazing with so many things to do and see! I had so much fun exploring the city around me. I had a great time at UCL. I liked my coursework in EU Politics and IPE, which I didn't have back at my home institution. "
A student Wellesley College
"I loved London and UCL, but not nessecarily for the academics. I had some world class professors, second-to-none, but going from Wellesley (small school, nice profs who care, etc.) to a large public university with your entire grade based off of one paper, was challenging. Being in London was great - I explored so much, took bud..."

Jessie Nanyang Technological University
"The structure of classes was that less time was spent in day to day lectures and much more time was spent working independently, which encouraged good use of time management. The focus of the university allowed me to explore the many different niches within the singular subject of art history in a way that is not as readily avai..."

"I gained so many things that I was able to take with me. A big theme was perspective and acceptance. I was with a wonderful group of Americans and built so many lasting friendships with them. But in the beginning, I unfairly made judgment calls on them just because they practiced different ways of living than I did. Throughout t..."
A student Berea College
"I learned that it is hard to adjust to it raining everyday but you have to make it worthwhile. You are only there for a, what may seem long, short period of time and you should go out and do everything you can because you never know when things can change (i.e. COVID 19)."
Aneeza Asif Barnard College
"Not worthwhile at all. I hated my experience "
