Study Abroad with IES Abroad
"Yes, it was worthwhile. I learned lot of Spanish. My reading comp and writing improved drastically and I got much better at engaging in everyday conversations (even if my grammar is still horrendous), which brought me back to why I wanted to learn the language in the first place. I learned how to navigate a quirky public transpo..."
Christiana Z Trinity University
"Incredible travel experience and cultural immersion if you seek it out! I learned a massive amount about the European Union but more importantly, about myself and my ability to navigate an entirely other continent independently and with confidence. This experience was way more than I expected and is absolutely worthwhile."
Marisa O Bowdoin College
"My abroad experience gave me the chance to learn more about myself and to discover more about the world. It allowed me to immerse myself in a foreign language and come out being almost fluent. It was by far worthwhile. "
A student Villanova University
"I gained a new perspective on the world, more knowledge in my field of study, and wonderful friendships. It was worthwhile, of course!"
A student George Washington University
"The education I got and hold most closely are the lessons I learned outside of the classroom. Being able to travel, live in a different country, and learn about a different culture have allowed me to have a better understanding of what it means to be a global citizen. This now can be applied to me studies. "
Brette B Connecticut College
"While I learned in the classroom, I learned much more about myself and gained independence. I learned a different culture and made great friends without knowing anyone going into my 3.5 stay. It was incredible."
A student Franklin & Marshall College
"Berlin was not as much a German city as it was a multi-cultural city. It is a place where all nations are represented, including people, food and architecture. There were so many people from all over the world and all walks of life. Every time I was on the U-Bahn (metro) or the S-Bahn (city-train) I would here languages ranging ..."

"IES Abroad has been detrimental to my experience thus far as a soon-to-be graduated senior. It helped me grow in so many different ways - emotionally (battling homesickness while finding new friends), physically (all the hikes I went on, calves of steel!), and intellectually (Irish language, history, and literature are all fasci..."
Grace D Pacific Lutheran University
"This may sound cliché, but I’m being completely sincere when I say that study abroad was a truly enriching, eye-opening, and transformative experience that allowed me to not only discover more about myself but gain worldly perspectives. Being away from the campus bubble and away from all my closest family members and friends in ..."

"I realized that I am a lot stronger than I thought, and I have a lot to be confident about. I learned that I can be independent, and if all fails, I have a future in baking cookies (which were my comfort food of choice). It was 100% worthwhile, and I would recommend it to anyone."
A student Wellesley College

"I am mountains more confident. Being abroad has made me want to jump on opportunities much more than I have in the past. Some of the things that I could chalk up as negative aspects of my time abroad have even inspired me. For example, there was very limited access to practice rooms to sing here. Practicing is ESSENTIAL. I feel ..."
Nadia B University of Hartford
"As I look back on my trip, I realized that everything happened exactly the way it was supposed to be. Even through all of the smog it was refreshing and just what I needed. I don't regret anything that happened nor anything that did not happen, like toilet paper that could have been but was never there, or getting tear gassed ..."
Alexis T Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis / IUPUI
"IES Abroad changed my life. If you've read and other reviews of this program, you know that there is no better program for French immersion.
