"I learned a lot about the Italian culture, and it made me realize how lucky I am to be born an American citizen. We have a better education system that actually forces you to learn as opposed to memorizing useless facts. Our public workers are professional and prompt. They don't start yelling at you in Italian just because you t..."

"Language skills, new friends, and I also learned a lot about myself. Definitely not the easiest semester for me personally but worthwhile."
Taylor E Fordham University
"I learned a lot about myself and feel much more confident in myself in the fact that if I was dropped in any city in the world I feel like I would be able to survive just fine. Also, I'm much more outgoing and have learned a second language."
A student Fordham University
"Yes it was worthwhile. Everyone should study abroad."
Claire F Brandeis University
"I learned a lot about how to learn from different teaching styles and I wouldn't change anything about my semester abroad."
Scott V University of the Pacific
"I think the fact that I made 0 French friends my entire time there says it all. Paris was a great place to study, but IES Paris is not a good program in any way, and I strongly advise against it. I had just done IES Tokyo and loved it so I was shocked that it was so different; I should have done more research."
A student Austin College
"I would do it over and over and over again. It was the best, I learned so much about myself and more of what I want out of life. "
A student Bentley University
"Because I spoke so little Japanese when I arrived in Japan, I learned to quickly adapt to new situations, even when I did not entirely understand what was happening. I learned to befriend people from a very different culture than my own and to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of each culture. I obviously gained a great de..."

Nick G Bentley University
"I feel I became a much more mature and independent person from the experience. I walked away with a lot of fun memories and an appreciation for the "Berlin life style" if you can claim that such a thing even exists. Going to Berlin was definitely one of the best decisions I've made, and I'd like to go back again one day. "
A student Austin College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I gained a new perception on life and business especially that has actually changed the way i approach every day decisions."
Matthew S Pennsylvania State University - University Park
"I learned a lot of German, got more confident when speaking and gained a lot of knowledge about German life and culture - which is exactly what I wanted to gain from the program. However, one of the best things about this program were all the people I met. We were about 40 Americans, from all over the US, and at the end we were ..."
Katja E Tufts University

A student Santa Clara University
" I would highly recommend the teaching internships offered, where you go into Austrian schools and learn firsthand about the average life of a person who may not be too much younger than you and come to understand the similarities and differences between your life and theirs."
Sam G University of Rochester
"I gained a broader sense of self and the confidence that I can overcome any obstacle. I have truly grown as a person and feel like I'm now ready for the real world, whereas before study abroad I relied a lot on my friends and family."
A student Villanova University

Annie B William Jewell College
"I learned a lot about the language and the Japanese people as well as their culture. I already had an idea about what it would be like but was shown I knew very little. I also learned that there is much to appreciate about all cultures and that there are good and bad with both. Finally, despite the clashing differences, there wa..."
