IFSA is a program provider offering 71 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, and Online Program abroad programs in 14 countries such as Argentina, Australia, Chile, and Costa Rica.
IFSA programs have the highest academic standards. Most of our programs allow students to enroll directly in a university abroad which creates a truly integrated cultural experience. IFSA's internship options allow you to gain practical work experience, strengthen your resume and get an insiders look at your host country.
IFSA's affiliated universities abroad are at the top of their countries rankings. All of our programs include events and excursions exclusively for our students throughout the semester. IFSA has program offices and full time staff in each country where we have programs. Our staff provide everything from detailed on-site orientations to academic guidance to emergency assistance. Our program fees guarantee housing. Once you finish your study abroad program, Butler University will process your official transcript with grade and credit translations at no additional cost. IFSA was founded in 1988. We have more than three decades of experience, longevity and reliability!
Study Abroad with IFSA
"It was absolutely worthwhile. I learned to get along with many different types of people, I learned about cultures that are entirely different than that of America. I learned that not all other peoples hate Americans, but that it is easy to get caught up in political discussions just because you are from America. "
Briana R Wellesley College
"Definitely worthwhile. I thoroughly enjoyed the country the people and the locations that Argentina had to offer."
David G Trinity University
"YES! I got to experience an amazing country! I also got to experience what it's like to attend a large university. I also got to know people from lots of different countries while travelling. I learned to cook in the flats and I learned a lot about tramping. I enjoyed taking classes outside of engineering and learning about di..."

"It was so worthwhile--it opened my eyes to a part of the world I had never seen before, and it was amazing. I became so much more independent being on my own, and I loved every minute of it. I met amazing people, saw beautiful sights, and got to travel to places that I've never been before! "
Jordan P Trinity University
"It was incredibly worthwhile and I wouldn't change anything about it even if I could. I loved the country and especially the people. It was such a unique experience that I feel incredibly lucky to have had. "
Jenna P
"I've learned about the hardships and challenges faced by the native cultures of New Zealand and Australia in reaction to European settlers, and I feel like this knowledge has given me some perspective, in which I could view Western European/American culture from the outside looking in. I could see how fortunate I am, and the fl..."

"The cultural and abroad part was amazing. I made life long friends from my host country and so many wonderful and challenging experiences. I gained a lot more spanish speaking skills from immersion than any class I took. "

Kimberley C Wellesley College
"My study abroad experience was extremely worthwhile. The only regret I have is not opting for a longer program. I learned so much about history, culture and, though cliche, myself. Of course my Spanish improved as well. I loved the city and would love to live there someday. Traveling abroad really allows you to gain a perspectiv..."

"Understanding of Mexican people, Spanish language, life abroad, outlook on Americans, and experiences of a traveler."
Patrick C Trinity University
"Traveling without my parents is something I hadn't really done. I am much more confident in myself to get things done and organize things now. Immersing myself in a completely new place was a huge adventure. The friends I made and other people I met along the way totally made the experience for me. I had to be accepting of a new..."
Rebecca B The University of Texas at Austin
"I became much more self-reliant and independent. I gained so much perspective with this experience and really enjoyed it. "
Julia O The University of Texas at Austin
"My experience made me want to travel and see other Latin American countries because every country has a different culture, which interests me. I also feel like going to other countries make you more humble because we're used to living in the US and learning about things only about the US, but foreign people know so much about th..."
Kathy T The University of Texas at Austin
"Yes, this experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot about Latin America and the challenges there. I really enjoyed Argentina and loved all the things to do in Buenos Aires. I met a lot of great friends in my program and think very highly of IFSA programs. "
Laura O The University of Texas at Austin
"Overall, I think it was worth the trip to see China. It was my first time to China and I was able to see how fast China is growing economically first hand and also experience some of their culture. "
Amy L Rice University
"I would recommend studying abroad to anyone and everyone! It was an amazing experience that has seriously changed my life. I have also made some of my best friends while abroad. It also makes you put a lot of things about the US and Texas in perspective. I definitely plan on returning to Latin America to work some day."
Lauren Boneta State U
"It was defiently worthwhile. It was wonderful to be able to experience a new culture that was so far away from America."
Samantha M Providence College
"I think that a lot of people assume that since Australia is an English speaking country it does not have very much of its own culture (or have a culture much different from america's). This is not true, Australia has its own culture and people who live their are extremely nice and want to share their culture with you. My exper..."

"I had a wonderful experience so far! I feel at home here at Cambridge with the other students and the culture. The PKP program advisors are Cambridge Students and they are easy to find and ask questions about anything here. I have been abroad before this, so this was mostly to expand my horizons on my traveling experience. "
Alexa P The University of Texas at Austin
"Met my girlfriend there so yeah it was worthwhile, but if you want to do something other than party and surf (with the occasional bit of school), go somewhere else. "
Zach B Vassar College
"This was the best experience i have ever been a part of. "
Matt N Gonzaga University
"Yes, mostly due to seeing a new country, and learning to be far away from my comfort zone. "
Matthew K Tufts University
"It was not worthwhile. I could have found a better program that would have given me better cultural and educational opportunities."
