At Millsaps College, study abroad is a core part of the liberal arts experience, with more than 40% of students participating in international learning each year. Through immersive faculty-led programs during the semester, summer, or winter sessions, as well as direct exchange opportunities, students can explore destinations across Africa, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and beyond. These programs, led by Millsaps faculty, provide full academic credit and integrate seamlessly with core or major coursework, combining rigorous academics with meaningful cultural engagement.
Guided by the Office of International Education, students receive personalized advising to select programs that match their academic goals and interests. Signature offerings include the Yucatán immersion, where students study on-site in Mérida and engage with archaeology, ecology, culture, and business in the heart of Mexico—all while paying the same tuition as on campus. Additional exchanges take students to countries such as Japan, Liechtenstein, and Taiwan, ensuring diverse cultural and intellectual experiences. Generous scholarship options, including travel grants for faculty-led programs, make these opportunities accessible and transformative.
