Study Abroad with SIT Study Abroad
"It was worthwhile. I learned to be very independent, I learned Kiswahili, I grew very close to my friends on the program, I made many friends and I plan to go back after I graduate. "
Hannah Blair Middlebury College
"I learned not to take myself so seriously and appreciate the little things in life. Working with a vulnerable population and learning about the social and health disparities of multiple places, made me more aware of what I want to do professionally as well as the issues my home country has. I think the biggest lesson though was ..."

"I learned a ton and I do think it was very worthwhile for me! Language, communication, politics, learning about another culture, confidence somewhere new... What you learn on this program is endless."
A student Brandeis University
"I was able to meet countless amazing and resilient individuals that I would not have met otherwise. These individuals, whether I met them through my ISP or homestay, were able to teach me so much more than some of the lectures we had. It made it all worthwhile and was beautiful to hear their stories. "
A student Middlebury College
"A Mustangi Buddhist philosopher named Jimpa once told me; "If you look back, you will be depressed, if you worry about the future then you will be anxious. If you choose to live in the present then you can find peace""

"I learned an understanding of sepals/SA culture that will allow me to travel/work there in the future."
A student Middlebury College
"This experience was "worthwhile" in terms of being able to immerse myself - as much as is possible given Western, Asian, upper middle class identities - in local cultures. I'm glad to know more about this part of the world, and to know more about myself. I've grown more resilient and less dependent on institutions to support me."
Sofia Chang Carleton College
"Firstly, my spanish skills improved a lot. Second, I think it was really great to be able to spend so long in one country (I had considered other programs that included more travel); I feel like I got to know Chile very well. "
A student Wellesley College
" I gained fluency in Spanish, I learned so much about the Argentinian healthcare system, especially the value of primary care. I was able to intimately experience another culture. Very worthwhile. "
A student Middlebury College
"I learned so much about Morocco; its history, where it stands now on so many issues, and about what the future holds for this country. Definitely a worthwhile experience."
A student Skidmore College
"I gained a new perspective on social justice, environmentalism and on life in general beyond what I knew at home or even at school. I had travelled abroad before, but immersing myself in a culture that was so completely different from anything I had ever experienced before was both challenging and extremely valuable. Life is har..."

"I got to learn about a different culture and practice a new language."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned a lot about environmental justice and capitalism, things which I hope will continue to shape my life in the future. "
A student Middlebury College
"I left Morocco with a new awareness of my own capabilities. I was able to thrive in a country where I didn't speak the local language fluently, but I still had the best semester I've had yet. I would go back to Morocco in a heartbeat. I think studying abroad, wherever you go, is a great way to learn about the world and yourself...."
Sarah Schauber University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
"My semester in Morocco through SIT's Multiculturalism and Human Rights program was absolutely worthwhile, not only because of the engaging academics and fascinating subject matter, but also because of the invaluable cultural knowledge and personal growth I gained from living in Rabat and traveling Morocco. "
Delaney University of Oregon
"People, more than places, will shape how you view things and the world at large. Chile is a great place to live and learn and has an interesting model for intercultural health. There are problems society faces everywhere due to historical events and there are lots of different solutions that can be used to tackle them. "
Rebecca G Brandeis University
"This program was very worthwhile. It was a wonderful cross-cultural experience that gave me a new perspective on the world. The people that I met (both Americans and Moroccans) were amazing and taught me so much about the world. I also learned a lot about myself, especially regarding what makes me happy and what is important to ..."
A student Bates College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I learned the most probably about myself and how I function far removed from all of my material comforts. "
A student Middlebury College
"During the time span of this program, I learned a wealth of knowledge about Morocco's history, culture, religion, and language. I was extremely surprised with how hospitable the people were, and how many good friends I made outside of the program."
Benjamin Stevenson Emory University
". The most important thing I learned while abroad was how to interact with and integrate into another culture. Living in a different country where I didn’t speak the native language taught me about my own strengths and weaknesses. I became aware of my own capabilities as I pushed myself into unfamiliar places and situations. My ..."

I was able to learn about issues facing the tropics and the world, as well as the local culture, local issues, and conservation tactics. I learned field study methods and ethnographic research methods. I also learned a lot about myself and ..."
