"Learned more than I could possibly imagine about renewable energy and have been able to apply many of the program's course components to my life. I've also been able to appreciate the beauty of nature on a higher level than ever before."

"I learned a lot. In terms of academics, I learned a lot about Argentine history and improved my spanish greatly (although not from class so much as from interacting with local people). "I learned how to relax and value what is actually important in life. Chileans have a way of investing their time in things that are actually important, like food and family. I had the opportunity to make many close and wonderful chilean friends and to travel with them and visit their homes and families after the program, and fr..."

"Definitely worthwhile. So special to have the opportunity to live and explore and begin to understand a culture that is so different yet beginning to resemble my own. I learned so much about Vietnam's history and culture, as well as a ton about modern society from host family and friends. I gained a personal relationship with th..."

"Saw three countries in three months (as well as time spent in California at the start of the program) and learned so much about how the world works. The countries we visited each had their own unique perks and we saw and learned a lot. Not the easiest program in the world just in terms of physical, mental and emotional strain,..."

"I became a much more resilient and patient person because of my time abroad, and I had an amazing group with me, with whom I bonded incredibly. "I gained a loving family who I miss very much and want to go back and visit. Also, I loved learning the spanish specific to Chile and I despite the challenge of never knowing what was going on because of the language barrier I feel like I learned, grew, and changed so much. The best 4 months of my life. "
A student Brandeis University
"I learned that my experience is really what I made of it. I also learned that sometimes, many things can go wrong, and to learn to accept that possibility and deal with it. "

"It is nearly impossible to write in this box what I learned from this experience so quickly after it has ended, but I will say that it is certainly worthwhile. If you want a fulfilling study abroad experience both academically and socially/culturally, I would highly recommend choosing an SIT program (especially the Balkans!)"

"I chose IHP Health and Community, because I knew it was the kind of opportunity that I would likely never have again. I think that I grew a lot as person and some pretty incredible friendships. But it's so hard to sum up my experience! I wish I could do it all over again. "
