SIT Study Abroad is a program provider offering 73 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad and Internship abroad programs in 37 countries such as Australia, Cameroon, Chile, and Ecuador.
A pioneer in experiential, field-based study abroad, SIT Study Abroad provides academically engaging semester and summer programs in Asia and the Pacific, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East for undergraduate students.
SIT Study Abroad programs examine critical global issues in a specific cultural and geographical context. Studying with host country faculty and living with families, students gain a deep appreciation for local cultures, develop language skills, and become immersed in diverse topics ranging from the politics of identity to post-conflict transformation, from global health to environmental policy.

"Yes it was. I made some great life long friends!"
Tiamo K DePauw University
"Too many and too deep to talk about all on here."
Maddy M The University of Texas at Austin
"I've decided that I will not be a reasearcher and that I would LOVE to work with people in an environmental context. This program helped to strengthen my belief in social activism."
Genea F Wellesley College
"With SIT, you learn a lot inside and outside of the class. All of the lessons are very interactive. For example, when learning about the economy we visited various mines, talked to miners, as well as high level mining engineers. "
Lisa D The University of Texas at Austin
"My experience was more than worthwhile, and it absolutely altered my future plans. But I can't reveal everything I learned because it would be like giving away the ending. You have to see it for yourself. "
Rachel E Hope College
"You cannot underestimate a study abroad experience. It made me more self sufficient and prouder of what I was capable of doing. It made me more interested in internationalist and languages and being culturally savvy. It changed my future plans in the sense that i'm rethinking doing international politics, and i'm going to stu..."
Suzanne T Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile and rewarding, but I did have certain complaints about the program. I was pretty sure of what I wanted to do with my future prior to the program, and the program confirmed my goals. I want to study anthropology at the graduate level, and having field research experience will definitely be an asset ..."
Shannon W Wellesley College
"I learned about myself, my place in a natural and cultural context, and I learned what I want to do with the rest of my life. This is an inspiring program and it changes people's lives."
Celeste A The University of Texas at Austin
"Absolutely."
Ashley W Barnard College
"I want to return to the Balkans, and I'm sure that I will. That changes my future plans, since I hadn't been sure before if I'd want to live abroad. I think I do want to spend some years in Belgrade now that I've been there."
Suzanne M Tufts University
"I loved learning about sustainability, I loved Australia, I loved our group. It was a risk for me doing this program because I was an art major with only one previous environmental science class (I am now majoring in both art and environmental science), not particularly interested in camping, but I wanted something different out..."
Johanna K Bard College
"It was worthwhile because of the language component, and the places I got to visit. It was interesting because I got a different perspective on environmental studies."
Julia W Wellesley College
"Yes, but because the people made it so. The program has a lot of potential and will hopefully improve upon its weaknesses, but know that you will ultimate create your own experience on IHP."
Marly F Barnard College
"I wish it had been longer. The only thing I missed for real was my family back home. I really got to see the French view, and understand their manners of thinking, as well as the stereotypes we have in the US on France - some are true, and I now understand how others developed. And, with all my notes and readings, I got to le..."
Hannah D Austin College
"yes. "
Linden M Bard College
"YES. See above. I badly want to go back and volunteer with the orgs I worked with during study abroad, as well as live and work and travel for a while before grad school. Phenomenal time in my life and I will forever have part of my heart in Argentina."
Kaela D Trinity University
"I've learned so much about myself. I itch to go back to Morocco all the time, not because I didn't do enough, but because I want to do it all over again! I worked at a boarding school in a mountain village called Talaat N'Yacoub. I was cold, sick, borderline hypothermic, but surrounded by girls who really, really wanted to get a..."
Asil Y School for International Training
"Absolutely. I am thankful for every single experience I had while studying away. "
Caitlyn J Pacific Lutheran University
"I gained many leadership skills by participating in the program. I look at the world in a different perspective then when i did before leaving. There many problems in developing countries world wide, that many Americans are oblivion to. By participating in a non-American culture, it opens up your eyes to the cultures all around ..."
Sammy Y Austin College
"The research that I was able to do made up for any other shortcomings in the program. This study abraod program can be great if you put the time into it. "
Emma N Austin College
"I have a strong desire to continue travelling and learning about other cultures and hope to live abroad again one day."
Samantha S Tulane University
"This experience was very worthwhile. I was able to gain a sense of different perspectives from people which I thought really enhanced my learning experience. It has definitely raised my cultural awareness and help me appreciate the value of other cultures. There is without a doubt that I'll be back some day."
Stephen S Pacific Lutheran University
"After my semester abroad, I am now more than sure that I want to go back and work somewhere on the African continent. Knowing what I know now, I can no longer sit comfortably and watch the world go by. "
Doreen N Tufts University
