At the University of Notre Dame, we believe that global engagement is essential to the development of well-rounded, visionary leaders. Through Notre Dame Global, over 70% of our undergraduates take advantage of our study abroad offerings—spanning more than 70 semester/year-long programs and 30+ summer experiences in over 30 countries.

Our programs are designed to go beyond academics. They immerse students in cultures where they not only learn the language and history but also participate in internships, community service, and faculty-mentored research. Whether interns are tackling start-up culture in Singapore, engaging in archaeological fieldwork in Athens, or studying race and immigration in Brazil, every experience deepens their curiosity, compassion, and global responsibility .

Led by Notre Dame faculty or hosted at our international sites—including centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Galway (Ireland), Rome, London, and Jerusalem—our summer programs (ranging from 3 to 8 weeks) allow students to focus intensively on disciplines like economics, the arts, theology, or environmental sustainability.

We are deeply committed to making these experiences accessible: Notre Dame offers robust funding options—from university scholarships to mission-specific grants—as well as personalized advising to guide students through program selection, eligibility, application, health and safety preparation, credit transfer, and re-entry planning.
