USAC is a program provider offering 56 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Research, and Online Program abroad programs in 24 countries such as Chile, The United Kingdom, Ireland, and Japan.
The University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) has been providing students with quality study abroad programs for over 30 years. USAC is a non-profit, university-based organization with 53 programs in 28 countries. USAC offers summer, winter, semester, and yearlong program options. We pride ourselves on providing well-rounded, academically sound and credible programs in non-traditional locations or in unique parts of more traditional places. By choosing a USAC program, you have flexibility in the length and time of your study (short-term summer or January programs from three to ten weeks, to semester, trimester, or year options) and a wide range of courses to choose from, plus small class sizes, a multitude of disciplines taught in English, and language study at any level of proficiency from beginning to advanced and with no language prerequisite. Many of our locations have the option of intensive language study, where you can earn up to two years-worth of credit in one semester. USAC alumni give our programs a 94% recommendation rate. USAC is honored to be recognized as a Top Study Abroad Provider and Organization by our friends GoAbroad and Go Overseas for 2019.

"The life was difficult due to the transition I had to make (in US, living with the food I love, the TV i enjoy at home, internet, and daily routine and services provided to in pau, france, no/limited TV, minimal time for internet (it is in the school library, closes at 6 I believe), plus your food is limited (unless you have a h..."

"It was definitely worth it. After the program, too, I stayed in Europe and backpacked for four weeks. It opened my eyes to what's out there and made me so much readier to take on the rest of the world. Prague is such a great, central location and it has such a long, rich history that I fell in love with it. The locals are gr..."

"Outstanding program which is affordable and a chance of a lifetime. I would highly encourage students to take this opportunity."
Jacob C University of Nevada - Reno
"Best 5 months of my life. I learned alot about other people, about my self, and I grew as a person. I had so much fun, and would re-live it in a second. I met amazing people that I can keep in my life for forever. STUDY ABROAD, even if not in Australia, anywhere. Travel while you are there. Spend all your money, Its worth it, it..."

"Absolutely. The best decision I have ever made. If I knew how much I was going to love it, I would have stayed a year. The people you meet will be life long friends. Being so far away from home, you learn to be independent, and you learn about the world! I believe it makes you a better, more well rounded person."

"5 stars times 5 thousand more! Was it worthwhile?!? Beyond measure, I would go back to Bilbao in a heartbeat. I would consider living there, and am fact am considering going back to Spain for graduate school!"
Michelle C University of Houston
"My study abroad experience was worth absolutely every penny I spent. I got to travel extensively through Europe and experience so many other cultures. I also got to participate in some of the traditional and annual celebrations around Europe, so I absolutely loved it! I now know that I can travel anywhere and live anywhere and b..."

"It was most definitely worthwhile! Like I mentioned before I will never forget my time spent on the Mediterranean. It has also been great conversation in job interviews. Words cant describe it."

"It is super cheap to study here. I loved it sooo much and can not wait to go back. Rent is about 180 - 200 USD. Meals are about a dollar a plate and they are super healthy for you. We actually lost about 10 lbs each when we were there. Transportation is super cheap as well. We lived about 1/2 hour from BKK and its like 10 -..."

"I absolutely loved being in Germany and there was time to travel around the country and see how diverse of a place it is. However I really went to Germany to an educational experience and I didn't get that. Part of the problem with the summer program is that it does not match up with the German university schedule. For half of t..."

"My attitude towards a lot of things changed. Their way of living really had an impact on me. I absolutely recomend it to everyone, it is an amazing experience to have!"

"I just want to go abroad again! Chile was a very comfortable place to live for a student who doesn't want to be too third world but still wants to live in Latin America. I feel like studying in Chile made me more confident, experienced and street savvy, but I don't feel like it changed my life in a major way."

"Improving my Spanish was a large factor, but understanding a new culture was a bit more of a surprise. I didn't realize how much different it was. My personality changed for the better."
Matthew S University of Minnesota - Duluth
"YES! Studying abroad in Prague with USAC = great friends, memories, crazy stories, all nighters, learning about new cultures, amazing Czech beer, personal growth, and a semester I'll never forget! check out my blog about my travels! wanderlustness.blogspot.com"

"Studying abroad is one of the most rewarding things a student can do. It gives you an understanding of so many things that simply cannot be taught in a classroom setting. You learn so much about yourself when you're away from everything that is familiar to you. It's not always easy, but it builds character. I think about my stud..."

"It was truly the best thing I've ever done. It's helped me to become more outgoing and accepting of other people's cultures and has helped me to appreciate my life in the states more. It has helped to improve my Spanish language skills and my understanding of the Spanish culture greatly."
Amanda M University of Maryland - College Park
"It is difficult to explain in short my experience, near impossible I suppose. What is important to me is the values I learned while studying abroad. None of us are inherently born with values that make us 'good' people or as I should say, easy to co-exist with. When living in a city like Viterbo, you are able to slow down, look ..."

"It wasn't USAC I didn't like. I just don't really get along well with the French people overall. Studying abroad fufilled all my stereotypes instead of banishing them. I was happy to come home and I would love to go back and visit France, but I would never live there again (unless I lived in Paris). "

"I learned so much about the Spanish culture as well as the Basque culture. I made a ton of lifelong friends and was able to speak Spanish everyday. San Sebastian is a beautiful city filled with great people. I miss it so much. I would recommend this program to everyone! I really did have the time of my life and I would do it aga..."

"This was an incredible experience, and very worthwhile. I made loads of great new friends, I learned more in one year than I could have imagined about my degree subject, and I had a cultural experience that was even better than I expected. It hasn't changed my academic plans, besides making me even more interested in archaeology..."

"This experience brought me some of the greatest gifts- from the locals who became good friends, to the beauty of the culture, to the art, to the architecture, to the wonderful food, and all the history. There was something new to learn every day. Something new to experience."

"Studying abroad was hands down the greatest thing i have done with my life up to this point. there is no reason that if you are thinking about doing it, you shouldn't. there are grants, help, scholarships, or loans that can be taken out, they are absolutely worth if for what you will recieve from the experience. It is something..."
