We pride ourselves on providing well-rounded, academically sound and credible programs in non-traditional locations or in unique parts of more traditional places. By choosing a USAC program, you have flexibility in the length and time of your study (short-term summer or January programs from three to ten weeks, to semester, trimester, or year options) and a wide range of courses to choose from, plus small class sizes, a multitude of disciplines taught in English, and language study at any level of proficiency from beginning to advanced and with no language prerequisite. Many of our locations have the option of intensive language study, where you can earn up to two years-worth of credit in one semester. USAC alumni give our programs a 94% recommendation rate. USAC is honored to be recognized as a Top Study Abroad Provider and Organization by our friends GoAbroad and Go Overseas for 2019.

"Yeah, I stayed for the summer (but not for classes) because it was so awesome. I came to understand myself and my role in a globalizing world. Also the travel bug bit me and now that is all I want to do."
Alexander H University of Massachusetts Amherst
"100% worthwhile! I loved every minute of my time there. I plan to be back there in less than a year (after graduation)!"
Kelli D Grand Valley State University
"I fell in love with Lüneburg in my three months there. The town is absolutely beautiful. Coming from the US, it's crazy to see so many old, old buildings that go so far back. The courses aren't incredibly challenging, but if it's learning German that you want, spend more time out in the town and less inside the dorm room. "
Samantha R California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
"Love Prague!"
Kelsey B University of Iowa
"It was worthwhile for the experiences of traveling that I made for myself, but I did not feel the program itself actually helped me. I did learn a fair amount about the German culture while I was there."
Sarah A University of Nevada – Las Vegas
"It was amazing and I would do it again, and I might. The people were amazing and so was the place, it changed my life."
Jasmeen M University of Arkansas - Fayetteville
"In living and learning abroad, I found myself taking part in a completely new lifestyle. Although I had previously lived independently, attended a university, worked, and enjoyed friends, doing each of these things in a different country will most certainly evoke a differnt affect. As I have found among others that were in my pr..."
Rachel S University of the Pacific
"Yes it was worthwhile. I was never given the opportunity to travel the globe until I studied abroad. From England I went to Rome,Paris,Germany,Amsterdam,Ireland, and Belgium."
Christina B
"It was absolutely worth it. I feel that I gained an immeasurable amount of patience from the experience, both in dealing with a country completely different from my own and dealing with the different kinds of students that show up. I learned that no one way of living is better than another. I also gained a lot of comfortabili..."

"I liked the program but I just wasn't able to learn the language as well as I had hoped. "
Drew C University of Arkansas - Fayetteville
"I enjoyed it greatly, and I want to go back to Spain, but if I could choose again, I would have preferred to have studied in another Spanish city."
Andrew W University of Arkansas - Fayetteville
"I think it was worthwhile because I was always intrigued by Scandinavian culture and I think studying in Sweden gave me a better understanding of that. "
Timothy C The College of William and Mary
"Probably the greatest decision I have made up to this point. I gained a better understanding of a culture. I gained a better understanding of what its like to live in a huge city. I learned how to live and travel on my own relying on myself to get around. I learned how to work through difficult situations when language barrie..."
Joseph C University of South Dakota
"Yes. I learned about a new place and culture. I learned about new foods. I became a more independent and confident person, and further showed myself that I can be a citizen of the world. I made great friendships. I saw unbelievable things. I could go on for days, but I will simply say that I don't think it's a stretch to say tha..."
Thomas C Rice University
"It was definitely worthwhile. It was really cool to realize that it is possible to function in a different society. When I was getting ready to leave, I really didn't want to because I wanted to see how much better my Spanish could become and how many more friendships I could develop. "
Catherine C University of Arkansas - Fayetteville
"I really enjoyed being abroad this summer--it was so worth it. There were ups and downs, but it was a valuable experience. It was fascinating to be in a place with such rich history, and I am really happy about the independence I developed while navigating cities in Germany. My German also improved in leaps and bounds. Do it..."
