University Information
The Office of Study Abroad supports Brandeis students who participate on any of our 300 approved programs in some 65 different countries around the world.
On average 40% of the junior class studied abroad during the academic year while still more students took advantage of various international opportunities in the summer. There is a huge diversity of transformative experiences that Brandeis students have engaged in abroad including studying biodiversity conservation hands on in Panama, conducting ethnographic research on sacred figures in Mongolia, interning with Parliament in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and interning in special education classrooms in Sydney, Australia to name a few.
Whatever your story, journey or adventure is destined to be, come by our office to learn more about the steps to going away!
Additionally, by logging in to Abroad101, all approved programs will be tagged with an "Approved" badge.

"I feel some parts of Yes and No to the question "Would you choose the same program". I had an amazing experience, but I had a feeling that the program was a little boring and left some abroad experience to be desired. I would not have wanted to spend an entire year there, but did have the best time there & would recommend it to ..."

"Naturally. There is always an element of perspective leveling when one studies abroad. I've got great comprehension skills now, but my linguistic ones really aren't as strong as I'd hoped. It's also a really great exercise in independence and inter social skills. "
Carmen A Brandeis University
"I loved living in a new culture, but still have connections to an American school. I really had the best of both worlds and therefore in many ways "culture shock" was not a particular worry for me. London is an incredible city—I feel very lucky to have lived in a safe, beautiful borough with many accessible attractions. While it..."

"I learned that even though it might take a while to get used to a completely new place, it really is in your best interest to go out and explore and make new friends. Studying in Cape Town was definitely worthwhile and I only wish I had stepped out of my comfort zone and started exploring earlier."
A student Brandeis University
"The internship component allowed me to connect with locals and learn first hand about British culture. Students who can go abroad and choose not to should reconsider and take advantage of this amazing opportunity. You learn so much while doing everything for yourself, including traveling."
Gabriel R Brandeis University
"The program and the experience were both incredibly worthwhile. Although Temple Rome does not focus on an immersive Italian experience, the classes teach you a lot about Italian culture and they often had visits from other Italian students and guest lecturers."
A student Brandeis University
"The classes offered here are really unique and taught in a way that really allows you to learn. Truly a top notch type of education. Although not rigorous, the teachers real encourage you to learn. "
