"Yes it was totally worthwhile. I think everyone should have the experience to go abroad for at least a semester. I grew as a person and got to explore a whole part of the world I have never been to. I made new friends and got even closer with the ones from Middlebury that I traveled with. "

"I learned a lot through different classes I wouldn't take at Middlebury, such as screenwriting in adaptation. I also learned a lot about myself, what kind of person I am becoming, what I want out of a school or town. I also learned more about myself in terms of how I adapt to Middlebury and how as an institution it has given me ..."

"It was absolutely worth while. I recommend students going to an english speaking country to stray away from external programs as much as possible. They are more costly and don't allow for as authentic of an experience. "

"I increased my traveling abilities and my ability to dive into and thrive in a different culture."
Bayliegh B Middlebury College
"I learned a lot about myself and how I function on my own, alone in another country. I learned to cook a lot of new dishes, and how important it is to reach out to people when you arrive in a new city with very few contacts. I reinforced my love for the mountains (the Alps are 45 minutes away by train). I learned how to turn tow..."

"I learned mostly about independence and being less judge mental about cultures and customs... And that the smallest of habits can make someone who they are or a culture the way it is. It was definitely worthwhile. I want to encourage everybody to go abroad. "

"I personally, culturally, and academically grew during my time abroad. I was given another perspective on life and was able to take myself out of my American context. I wish I was still abroad!"

"I really enjoyed my experience in Copenhagen. My host family was amazing, and I made some great friends at DIS, all of whom I keep in touch with. I learned a lot, and appreciated being able to take mostly design classes, some of which I would have not had the opportunity to take otherwise. Overall, studying abroad is an exciting..."

"I gained friends who I will never forget and a new approach on social outlook. I learned that it is quite easy to live abroad. With a different university assessment system, more exploration of the city in which one lives is possible."

"I loved living in Denmark. I definitely see my home and life in the US from a different perspective after being abroad. I would love to do it again but would prefer a program with more integration."

"I learned a lot through my experience, but I really learned the hard way. I don't think you have to be so isolated to learn the life lessons I learned abroad. "

"I gained more self-confidence in my ability to be independent. I gained a sense of what life post-college will be like in terms of preparing mills and scheduling myself, etc. I learned that everyone's experiences are necessarily different because of things like money or resources, but that everyone can still get a lot out of the..."

"It was certainly worthwhile. Aside from developed skills of independence and assimilation in a foreign culture, being abroad in Prague and traveling throughout central Europe opened my eyes to many different cultures, historical landmarks, and different countrys' deep rooted histories. Overall, both culturally and intellectual..."

"My experience was absolutely worthwhile. I was given the opportunity to learn how to truly live on my own in a way that just moving away from home for college does not afford you. I came out of the experience feeling more independent and capable as an adult, and with a broader view of the world and a better understanding of what..."
