"I gained a knowledge of New Zealand culture and geology. I also learned a lot about myself and what I am capable of and how much I can withstand. I learned I can support myself and live abroad successfully."
A student Middlebury College
"I loved being in a city and having all of the cultural/culinary/other experiences that provided. It was worthwhile to explore a new place and to come back to Middlebury with a greater appreciation for the things I had missed while abroad. "
A student Middlebury College
"I gained understanding of what it means to live on your own in the real world and not pampered on a campus, what it means to budget your money and how it feels to not have any money. I learned how to make new friends when they come from very different places and not fall into the same old routine."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned a completely different academic approach to learning, much more based on independent study and scholarly research than my American experience. I learned how to travel well, how to adjust to a new city, to bond with and relate to a group of international friends, how to be optimistic, and to be more outgoing."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned about adjusting to new experiences and stepping out of my comfort zone."
Elizabeth B Middlebury College
"Fantasic education, some really cool opportunities to participate in activities that are very stereotypical of a very famous university, and a better understanding of how the US is viewed in the world. I also traveled a TON over the 6 week break, so that added a whole other dimension to the experience"
A student Middlebury College
"My time spent in my internship and classes were absolutely worth it. "
A student Middlebury College
"I could not even begin to sum up what I learned. I never believed that my mind could be challenged like it would be in Ghana. I was taught about myself through others. For me, it was a revolutionary experience that I want to keep all to myself because I cannot begin to explain it so other people could understand. "
A student Middlebury College
"I gained more self confidence and independence. I also feel like I learned a unbelievable amount of information on rainforest, corals reefs and life in Australia. This program was 100% worthwhile."
A student Middlebury College
"It was a blast and a half"

"I got to travel all around New Zealand. It was not a life-changing cultural experience, but it was a lot of fun and a good chance to travel abroad ."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned so much on this program it is hard to quantify or qualify it. A very incomplete list of things that I learned about on this program: Mexican social movements, Mexican history, Mexican culture, identity politics, Marxist politics, how to organize, labor organizing, rural organizing efforts in Mexico, urban organizing ef..."

"It was worthwhile, the instruction was amazing but one class over a three week period leaves you with plenty of time to get familiar with the city. "
A student Middlebury College
"Very worthwhile, learned not only about a new culture and a new way of life but got serious biological research experience under my belt."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned that even though it may be difficult, the best way to get the most out of your study abroad experience is to get outside of your comfort zone and really try to integrate yourself. "
A student Middlebury College
"Independence. Increased my love for Africa and the culture. It was completely worth while and I would do it 10x over. I gained new friends from across the country and experiences no one else can say they have ever had. There are memories only I hold and they are priceless."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned about myself, about family values and living in Costa Rica. I also learned a lot from a different academic system and teaching style."
A student Middlebury College
"Experienced a new culture and gained a new sense of independence. "
Evan A Middlebury College
"During my semester I got to experience another culture and a different type of learning environment. It was definitely worthwhile. It was the perfect Febmester experience. I got to travel and start school when my other friends were. Also coming here, starting classes again was not as scary as it was for other Febs who hadn't..."

"I learned a lot about being on my own in a big city. I loved London, it is now one of my favorite cities. Although classes did not meet as often as they do at Middlebury, I had a lot of free time to enjoy myself abroad and I really got to know London well. "

"I learned a lot about myself and how I handle situations. I had a lot more independence over there and I think I learned a lot from it."
A student Middlebury College
"Looking back, I'm not sure if I would have studied at St. Andrews for my Febmester. I think that I would have really enjoyed doing a backpacking trip in Asia or South America because I had spent time in Europe before doing my Febmester and it would have been great to try something different. I made some really great friends,..."

"Interdisciplinary teaching is a popular concept in education today. This program and the absolutely top-notch team of teachers and staff at Williams-Mystic come closer to achieving a true interdisciplinary approach than any other school I've seen yet. The program is unique in that all the professors and staff know exactly what i..."

"I learned how to work as an artist on my own. It was worthwhile but the school while offering the facilities did not give us much guidance or assistance in making use of them. The classes were not as thorough as my home institution. "
A student Middlebury College
"I gained an understanding of the world around me but felt very trapped on the island. "
