"I learned how to be very independent and to learn my way around a new city, which also happened to be the second largest city in the world. It was an incredible experience and I learned a lot about Turkish culture- especially through the incredible hospitality and kindness the locals showed me. This was an incredible life experi..."

"I came to understand the meaning of life. 100% worth it, even if it costed 20x as much, I would still do it again."
Lefteri C The University of Texas at Austin
"Very worthwhile. Gained a lot of confidence, independence, good friends, awesome experiences with nature, and greater ability to live in a household with people. It broke the ice for traveling and made me feel like I can go anywhere I want to."

"The Israeli culture is very different from the American culture. People are a lot more upfront and this can come off as rude to some Americans. I became a lot more direct and confident in myself after being in Israel. I can also make quicker decisions now since in Israel you need to be quick to act and more aggressive, this is a..."

"It was completely worthwhile. I learned a lot about myself and I was able to make a lot of friends and have fun in the process. I was able to learn about the different teaching styles that Sussex offers and I explored England and Europe as much as I could. If I had the opportunity again, I'd do it in a heartbeat. "
Patricia B The University of Texas at Austin
"It was definitely worthwhile. I learned how much I am capable of doing on my own, and I like to think I've gotten pretty good at charades. "
Mia C The University of Texas at Austin
"Having lived abroad with my family before, I didn't think I would learn as much as I did. It's a completely different experience living on your own. You learn how to go outside of your comfort zone to meet new people, how to navigate a foreign city, how to independently plan a trip; you end up surprising yourself. You also learn..."

"I did an exchange program, so I happened to be the only student from UT to study abroad at UL. Turned out to be one of the most eyeopening and best experiences of my life. I would recommend an exchange program to anyone studying abroad. The international society on campus had so many different events to meet people, that I quic..."
