"I gained a lot of perspective and learned about myself as well as archaeology and the Italian culture. The trip was more than worth it!"
catherine.whited The University of Texas at Austin
"Absolutely worthwhile. Travelling for 3 months at the end of my studies was the best decision I made. Everyone should study abroad, although not necessarily through SciPo."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how to navigate a foreign country, how to write excavation journals, how to work on an archaeological dig. It was absolutely worthwhile. It was the best way I could have spent my summer."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Being abroad opened my eyes to different cultures. I've always lived in the United States, always in Texas, and people here are very different compared to those in Australia. It was a completely worthwhile experience."
tory.haddix The University of Texas at Austin
"I think that anyone interested in any kind of International work must study abroad. There is no substitute for being at the source of what you are studying. You are more confident about what you know, more motivated to learn, and become more passionate about what you are doing. "
Daniel G The University of Texas at Austin
"This was 100% worth my time. Learning Chinese is not something you can simply do in the confines of your University Campus, I suggest go abroad."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"This experience was definitely worthwhile. I learned a tremendous amount about Moroccan lifestyle and culture, Islamic traditions and life as a practicing Muslim, and gained new, unequivocal skills as a traveler. I also made long-lasting friendships both with fellow Americans on my program and with local Moroccans. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I really loved going abroad because I went on my own and I was able to become more involved with other people and immerse myself in the culture. I was also able to meet other awesome people from other parts of the US that I have kept in touch with after I came back."
Zarina M The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned so much about the European lifestyle, and I thought that I knew more than I did going into the program. Switzerland was much different than I expected. "
Emily W The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how to live on my own with other American students. Because it was an American program, I got to know other Americans and learn about the Danish culture with them. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to meet that many other Danish people because of the program itself. I only picked this program because I've always wa..."

"I gained proficiency in Portuguese and self-reliance. I've learned to live comfortably with little resources and now I have friends all over the world! "
Brittany C The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained a greater understanding of the Italian culture, food, and way of life. This program is definitely worthwhile."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I loved my experience and I gained a great connection with my host family and abroad friends! Would I chose it again? I would say "yes" because of all the good experiences that I wouldn't want to miss. However if I were to go abroad again for a second time, I would search for a program with a larger variety of art courses and mo..."
Brittany B The University of Texas at Austin
"Fluency in another language, very worth while."
Stefan N The University of Texas at Austin
"Overall, I think I learned to ask questions. Learning about different cultures is fascinating, but talking to the people who live these different cultures every day was one of the best things I will take back with me. The experience was more than worthwhile. "
Jacqueline K The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained a sense of self, greater independence, a more complex world view. I gained knowledge about what life is like in a foreign country and how similar yet different people can be. It was by far the most amazing experience of my life and I would do it again in a heartbeat. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"A girlfriend, friends, language, love for a new culture"
Ricardo E The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned that the American way is not always the right way - that there are some areas that America really needs to improve on that other countries are doing really well. It was definitely worthwhile to realize that there are cultures where you can leave your baby out on the sidewalk while you shop inside a store and you don't ..."

"Living in a different country makes you learn to be a more flexible person, a makes you learn how to live without your parents. The trip was definitely worthwhile. "
Benjamin Behnoud N The University of Texas at Austin
"How to survive in a foreign culture and navigate in a foreign city and how to be independent. I thought it was entirely worth while."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"That the education systems in the UK and US are a way more different than I first would have expected. That said, they are also very similar in ways since they're both universities: exams still are stressful, people still go out the night before tests, students will do the minimum in class sometimes, there will be that one guy w..."
John W The University of Texas at Austin
"Going to the international organizations and speaking with experts in the field of international law was my favorite part. I feel like I learned so much about how Europeans view the US, which was extremely important to me. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained a first-hand experience of all the customs and nuances that are found in Paris. It is definitely worthwhile to be able to interact with the locals and to experience the fast-paced lives they live, and to also see the darker side of the country where many live in poverty in one of the richest and historical cities in the..."
Maris G The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned a lot about myself, the world, and life in general. Getting OUTSIDE and AWAY from the US is the best thing anyone can do, if only for a little while. Other countries are SO MUCH MORE put together than ours is... People are kind, wonderful, and polite abroad. It was an amazing refresher on cultural differences."
Justin L The University of Texas at Austin
"It was the most amazing experience of my life. I learned how much I take for granted in the United States, but more importantly how much my priorities have changed since being abroad. I now value family and friendships more than work and materialistic things. "
