I got to write a lot of music because I was so annoyed with how the program was run. I was staying with old people an hour out of paris in a particularly uninteresting part of France and had nothing to do, so I wrote a lot on my own. A student - Trinity University View Entire Review
I gained a first-hand experience of all the customs and nuances that are found in Paris. It is definitely worthwhile to be able to interact with the locals and to experience the fast-paced lives they live, and to also see the darker side of the country where many live in poverty in one of the richest and historical cities in the... YES! I learned to speak French confidently; I am nearly fluent now. I did not take French in college because I placed out of our requirement, and I felt that CIEE's program helped me to reconnect with this language and culture. I learned so much beyond the classroom as well. I now feel confident that I can get along with any... Alice L - Washington & Lee University View Entire Review

I was certainly satisfied with it, as I definitely improved my French and I got to see and do things that most people will never do in a lifetime. However, I still feel like the program didn't stress the all important cultural immersion enough; I feel that we should have had more structured opportunities to meet and interact wit... This was definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot about different cultures, how they coincide with each other, the language and how much it means to different countries, etc. I feel like my cultural awareness has matured a lot. Unfortunately, the rest of my academic career is laid out with no wiggle room, so I will not be able to ... Nicole P - University of Colorado - Boulder View Entire Review

Absolutely worthwhile! I learned so much about French culture, other than what one can read simply from a guidebook. I have a thorough understanding of the culture now, and it sincerely helped my language skills! A student - Indiana University - Bloomington View Entire Review
It was worthwhile. I learned to be patient and more understanding. I learned about the French culture and the way Americans are perceived by a different culture. A student - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I became so independent. I lived literally on my own, went to doctors appointments on my own, traveled the city/other countries on my own, and understood a whole new culture from their perspective. It was completely worthwhile. Jessica G - Roger Williams University View Entire Review
It was worthwhile because I learned so much about the world, and it opened my eyes to the issues that face every country, and every city all over the world. Paris is not exempt from cultural tension and racism, and this dichotomy between the immigrants and the Parisians can be overwhelming. I certainly learned a lot, and, in fac... If you're studying foreign languages and cultures, there really is no substitute to spending time in the country itself. Ann G - University of Minnesota - Twin Cities View Entire Review
Being in Paris was great, the program and the coordinators would not be something I'd want to do over again, or revisit. Paris is a beautiful, rich city, and should be discovered. angie a - University of Houston View Entire Review
Yes, my study abroad experience was worthwhile because I've learned and embraced so much through the program that it made me a better person for who I am. Lori K - Rochester Institute of Technology View Entire Review
