"I learned a lot about living with people from different cultures, and I would have to say that my experiences of travelling and meeting new people made the stay in Menton worthwhile. I would not have wanted to stay longer than a semester. "

"Although certain aspects of your study abroad may not be exactly what you expect or want, those things teach you important lessons that can develop skills which are applicable throughout life. I learned to embrace and savor the positive times and phenomenal happenings. More importantly, I learned how to examine negative experien..."

"I cannot always control my situation, but I can make a difference. Every culture has its ups and downs, and every country is unique. I learned to appreciate this, but also understand that improvements can always be made. History is in the making. I would absolutely go back to South Africa in a heartbeat. "

"Although I was already at an advanced level of French, this experience helped to improve my speaking, listening comprehension, writing and reading dramatically. Also, I gained a deeper understanding of the French people and culture. Furthermore, not only did I get to know the local culture, but through my program I met people fr..."

A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how to get along with all kinds of people and that everyone has a story. And they will tell you that story if you take the time to listen. There's so much beauty out there that we never take the time to look at and we should. It was the best experience of my life so far and I can't wait to travel again. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned many things outside of the university. I learned about the French culture, I traveled to other cities in France, and I had great food. The class offered at IAU need improvement. The classes felt like a waste of time, and most of them weren't very interesting. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned so much from this experience, such as personality traits and habits that are consistent even when no one knows who I am. I also learned a lot of traits and mannerisms from different cultures. Overall, I had an amazing experience and would do it all over again. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin

"Australia is not necessarily so different from any other anglo-saxon culture, but Australians still has a reputation for being more laid-back and relaxed than Americans, something my hands-on experience can now verify. Adapting was easy as living is extremely easy in Australia, despite the price levels. It was definitely worth w..."

"My experience in Great Britain has changed me profoundly in ways that I am not yet entirely conscious of. I obviously learned how to manage a budget, as well as the value of public transportation (as I was without a car). I learned that there are large concerns beyond the US border that I never even hear of living in Texas. The ..."

"The biggest thing that I picked up from my study abroad experience was the enormous contrast in culture that Latin America has in comparison to the United States. "The best time of my life. Took my 4 months there for granted and now I want to go back and do everything all over again. Currently having withdrawals but made the best memories there and still continuing to keep in touch with the friends I've met from over there. I've learned that there is so much more out there and became more ..."
