"YES! I am so glad I had the opportunity to go study abroad. I would totally do it again if I have another chance. Just being abroad opened my eyes to a bigger world and I learned how to be independent. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I had an amazing experience abroad, and despite some of the problems that I had with the organization and location of the program, I had a great time. It was definitely a learning experience because I was one of the only students that spoke French so I got a LOT of practice asking the locals questions. If I had to do it again, I..."

"Absolutely worthwhile. I learned about new people, cultures and ways of life. It was awesome."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned how to plan and travel around South America without any outside help, I learned how to successfully navigate the public transportation system, I learned how to successfully communicate with people in another language, and most importantly I learned how to take advantage of living in and learning about another culture. ..."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"It was completely worthwhile- I had a wonderful time and it has definitely changed my life- it's great here. If people want something not quite Europe or the North America, but not like much of Latin America, then it's the place to go. A unique country and quite interesting. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained incredible insight into many engineering disciplines that I wouldn't otherwise have known. The program really opened my eyes to how sensitive the planet is to our consumption of resources."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Fluency in a new language and a whole new insight on life"
Liza L The University of Texas at Austin
"Studying abroad was the best decision I have made thus far. I learned a lot about my future career goals and had an eye opening experience to global issues. I became more independent and learned to enjoy the little things around me. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"It was absolutely worthwhile because it gave me a strong sense of confidence to know that I could be so independent outside my comfort zone. The second to last week of my time of South America, I traveled to Brazil by myself for 10 days, without knowing Portuguese and it was one of the best opportunities I've ever experienced. I..."
Orla O The University of Texas at Austin
"This was one of the most worthwhile things I have ever done. I learned so much about myself as a person and was exposed to a completely new culture. I learned that I have a huge passion for traveling and I can't wait to travel more in the future. "
Kyle G The University of Texas at Austin
"SO WORTHWHILE. I gained a different and better perspective on life and the cultural immersion was an incredible experience."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"My first class had kids whose first language was Slovenian, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Farsi, Polish, Dutch, Greek, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. I literally couldn't communicate with anyone at my table unless it was in German. You have no safety blanket, no one explaining a concept in your first language, no one givin..."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"It's really changed my outlook on life to a more positive one. I've met and talked to people from countries I would never have been able to in the US. And even if I could, they would probably be in a much different mindset. Meeting people from other countries in a neutral place is a great way to see all the cultural differences...."
Mathieu G The University of Texas at Austin
"I can't put into words how much I've learned. How different education systems, people, cultures, histories,... everything are. I met amazing people who wanted to discuss and share their world, saw amazing places, had a few mishaps here and there... and absolutely nothing I would change."
Alexis C The University of Texas at Austin
"The biggest thing I learned was about digital advertising in British culture through my internship. The one thing I appreciate Arcadia for is setting me up with a great company, though it wasn't like that for everyone. However, I would do this program again solely for my internship."
Deandra T The University of Texas at Austin
"It was definitely worthwhile and don't get me wrong I loved the program and the people. If I had to do it again though I would have looked for a program with more of a foreign component that was less Americanized."
Chuck R The University of Texas at Austin
"Best experience ever. I learned about different cultures, people, ideals, etc. It has made me even more open-minded. I was never really outgoing, but I feel more comfortable with myself now. Study abroad is better than just traveling because you have an opportunity to create this life elsewhere with your peers, and you have to l..."

"I learned a lot about the Danish culture and gained so many amazing friendships from other DIS students. It was more than worthwhile, and I will definitely miss Denmark more than I ever could imagine."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained an understanding and confidence in myself. I learned more about myself in 6 months abroad than in 3 years in University. I know I can overcome certain obstacles."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Life experience/ Yes"
Andrea G The University of Texas at Austin
"I definitely gained a sense of independence from getting around the city and travelling. I've also gained insight about the French culture and a sense of responsibility of setting a positive representation (as an American) for the French locals. The experience was definitely worthwhile."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained exposure to different cultures"
Michael X The University of Texas at Austin
"Yes, it was completely worthwhile. I was able to gain contacts working in the types of positions that I would love to see myself in 10 years down the line. "
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"It was very worthwhile. I tried to get out and meet people and speak the language and I did. I learned how to travel and live on a budget. I gained a great appreciation for the life I live in America, as well as the life I lived abroad."

"So worthwhile!! I improved my Spanish immensely and got a great sense of Latin American realities I could never get at home in a classroom plus I made some amazing friends!"
