Trinity University
University Information
The Study Abroad program at Trinity University is designed to be accessible and flexible. With proper planning, students from every major can study abroad productively in many different countries around the world as a part of their degree.
This is possible because Trinity's program is based on individually advising each student so that the term abroad becomes an integral part of the degree that meets academic, personal, and professional goals. As a result Trinity students participate in a wide variety of academic experiences abroad from studying in a foreign university classroom to academic internships to intensive language study to field studies - or a some combination of these things.

"While I learned a lot about Shanghainese culture and improved my Chinese, I also learned that I'm not the biggest fan of the great trend of globalization that has overtaken Shanghai. "
Katy K Trinity University
"I learned a new perspective on the world. The culture that I grew up in and the culture in Taichung are very different, which I found very interesting. I learned that people can communicate without sharing a common language, and that there are universal manners that cross cultures. Mostly, I learned that if you want to learn you..."

"How to be independent and comfortable in my own skin. Which empowers me to see my own potential and turn that potential into great things. I learned how to listen more than I speak in order to learn more about new places. I learned how to use public transport which is not something we have in Texas."
Bria W Trinity University
"I would highly recommend this program to someone interested in studying abroad with the goal of immersing yourself in Spanish language and culture. The classes (which includes any homework and projects, exams, etc.) are all in Spanish, and you have a couple of choices for living options which is sometimes hard to find in other p..."

"I learned a lot about other cultures, I know that sounds like kind of a generic answer but it is the biggest thing that I learned. I pretty much avoided other Americans for this purpose and it was quite successful. I also was able to learn what people from other cultures think about the US and Texas, while hopefully dispelling s..."

"I learned how to travel independently because I didn't have my parents there to tell me everything to do and where to go. And it helped me get out of my bubble. "

"Learned more about US culture and language and how the US is perceived. Absolutely worthwhile."
A student Trinity University
"I learned a lot about Ecuadorian culture, Spanish, public transportation, racial relations and how they relate to socioeconomic status, the complexity of machismo, the huge wealthy disparity, the importance of family and friends over rigidity (time, schedules, individualism), and a lot about myself. I gained confidence in my abi..."

"I definitely learned how to adapt to other areas of academics since I did not take a single class towards my major. I also gained insight into the culture in London. Probably the most important, I learned to be independent; London gave me the opportunity to just go out and do something whenever I wanted. Anything and everything ..."

"I had to adapt to a completely different method a studying during the semester. It was hard to keep up at the beginning but if you like the classes you can motivate yourself to get your work done."

"I learned a lot about myself and I saw some of the most incredible things that I will probably ever see in my life. I wish I could go back and do it all over again. I also want to travel to so many other countries now."

"I wouldn't change the experience at all just because of what it taught me. I don't rate it 10 stars because my experience was perfect. There were days where I didn't like Argentina, and I wanted to go home, and I felt lonely and disconnected and lost. BUT. There was such value in it from the beginning. I learned a lot about myse..."

"I learned a lot even though it wasn't always in a classroom setting. I learned the most about the Masai tribe when I stayed with them. "

"I think in some ways I became more independent (after living in dorms and having meal plans for the last 2 years). I also didn't know the language fluently, and learning to communicate with this limitation was a challenge that I eventually go better at. I met people from so many places and from so many backgrounds - hearing the..."

"Even though I didn't necessarily meet all the Japanese people I had in mind, I was surprised by the diversity of people I met in general. Temple Japan had students coming in from all over the world and I was in close contact with them the whole time. Even if they weren't all Japanese, the people I met there was the greatest pa..."

"It was the most worthwhile experience I could have ever decided to do. I would of course change a few things I did, but nothing is perfect. I gained and learned more than I could write here - my outlook on myself and certain aspects of life have certainly changed. Going abroad is something that every student should get the chanc..."
