Christine S Tufts University
"Absolutely! Not only did I improve in language, but my perspective and understanding of Chinese government, society, and people in general expanded greatly. Best experience of my life, honestly"

"It was very worth while. I my Italian improved so much, I was able to travel all over Italy and Europe. I learned about how to travel alone and I gained a tremendous amount of confidence in my abilities. "
SarahG Tufts University
"The program was great, like I said before, deep cultural immersion with support from a helpful administration. My language skills improved significantly, to say the least."
Stanley A Tufts University
"Hard to summarize, but briefly: everything is connected, in incredibly dynamic ways you can't necessarily imagine. Most values are somewhat arbitrary (e.g. individualism is not necessarily as great as Americans tend to think it is), as is the fact that you were born affluent and American as opposed to poor and Ghanaian. "Studying abroad was scary, frustrating, exhausting, and totally worth it. I feel like I can travel anywhere now!"

"Definitely! I made new friends with great people at Tufts, I lived with a family who was so warm and open to learn about new cultures, and I got to live and be a 'citizen' of a country that I had only visited before."
Sera Tufts University
"My study abroad experience was amazing! Not only did I learn so much through my academic experience and travel, I learned a lot about myself. Abroad is a great opportunity to try and remove yourself from American stereotypes. I really tried to integrate myself into the Parisian society. Spend time with your host family. Get..."

"I learned some random things about Italian culture...enough Italian to appease my parents and make it seem worthwhile. I made some great friends, but still feel disappointed at myself for not challenging myself academically or culturally by choosing a more rigorous program taught in a different language. "
ANK Tufts University
"It was completely worthwhile. I made new lifelong friends, I learned a lot academically, I had fun. Taking the time to travel more was the best decision because you see things that you have never seen before that are completely different from anything you find at home."
Alex Tufts University
"I love the city of Paris. And traveling through Europe. I did about one trip away per month and felt like that was a great balance. I think my abroad time has helped reinforce my sense of self-sufficiency and obviously vastly improved my french language ability."

"My study abroad experience was really great. I learned my boundaries and capabilities and then I exceeded them. I found a new piece of myself in every place I traveled to and those places still bring me peace even after returning to the daily grind of "real life" college. The language I first fell in love with suddenly was b..."

"I loved studying abroad. I loved the friends I made and the independence of being half way around the world but still being able to communicate with home. I loved having the time to travel so much and to learn a lot about another culture that we barely ever hear about in the US. My university classes really helped me learn a lot..."
Kim Tufts University
"Definitely! You can only gain certain perspectives and experiences from traveling to other places and learning about them."
Alyss Tufts University
"Definitely worth while, but I wish I had taken more time to interact with Chinese people and been a little more focused on learning Chinese. The travel and the people were great though."
