"I got the chance to have great conversations with brilliant professors about books i actually wanted to read. I made friends from all over the world. I got to live in a somewhat thriving city, in a beautiful area, with amazing people. I learned how to write more efficiently and forcefully so that i could finish my work and have..."

"I gained a cultural experience that I could never have learned in a classroom. I also gained fluency in Chinese. Previously, I did not have any experience in reading and writing, however, after 9 months of intensive training, I am able to read newspapers and follow news broadcasts."

"Adapting to a different university curriculum was very challenging and helped me grow as a writer and academic. I became more confidence in my independence and self. I reached out to organizations I wanted to be a part of based on my interests rather than career goals. I was on the LSE football team and strongly recommend joinin..."

"I learned that I love to travel and meet new people and that I can do it, on my own or with friends. I learned not to be afraid to try something new or go somewhere new. You don't always need someone else with you to go out and do what you want."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned a remarkable amount about myself and what I need or don't want to bother with. I also have a far greater understanding of my academic capabilities and feel as if I could confidently enter a graduate programme now instead of heading back to Wellesley for my senior year. The experience was most certainly worthwhile. "

"I learned that study abroad programs are really catered towards a particular student. I also learned that a lot of Americans are ignorant about global issues regardless of how much they learn inside the classroom. This particular study abroad program really tried to integrate the American students into its culture and I also saw..."

"It was worthwhile: I made leaps and bounds in my French abilities (which was my goal for going abroad). However, I didn't really enjoy Aix as a city and would have preferred going somewhere else 2nd semester."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained a new perspective about myself, where am I from, and my current circumstances. I was able to integrate what I learned from my home institution into my academics abroad, and learned some new skills and strategies along the way. A student Wellesley College
"I learned a ton about South Africa/ Southern Africa while able to have oodles of fun. "

"It was definitely worthwhile. The kind of stories I heard, the experiences I had and the people I met made all the difference. I was really impacted by the way public policy decisions made years ago still affects people today on a very personal level. As a poli sci major, this was an important concept for me so that I could unde..."

"I spent all of my time working one-on-one with my professors. It was great because it meant that I got to learn about exactly what interested me, as well as hone in on particular writing skills that I felt I lacked. The professors themselves were incredibly learned, interesting and, for the most part, kind. I'm not sure I cou..."

"I loved being abroad in London: it felt like the beginning of my ascent into adulthood. The independence I had and the accessibility of a social life and travel made me feel empowered and helped me solidify my wants and my personality. "It was extremely worthwhile, though I wouldn't repeat the experience. I have intentions on returning some of the places I had the privilege of visiting. I worked on developing a personal philosophy of patience and "everyone has a story.""
A student Wellesley College
"It was generally worthwhile, although what I really enjoyed was having the time to travel rather than the program itself. The two six-week long breaks and the limited class time commitments meant I could go a lot of places. I went on Mediterranean cruises (go with a lot of friends if you do--it's more fun and cheaper, and it o..."
