"I learnt the cultures of the local people by spending time with them during buddy network events and visiting family time. It was a really valuable experience."

"My conversational Russian improved a lot, as well as my ability to talk about academic topics like art, literature, and history. In addition to that, Moscow is a magnificent (if expensive) city, and I'm already homesick to go back!"
A student Wellesley College
"I learned a lot in my classes that will be useful for my major. I gained a lot of good friends and experiences. I do think it was worthwhile because I did experience so much, good and bad. I would pick a different program in the end for better support, but I wouldn't pick different peers or country."

Also, my Spanish improved which is nice."

"I learned how to teach myself, as learning was very personal, not interactive, at SOAS. I learned how to take advantage of the city I was in and all it had to offer.I learned how to travel effectively and use the knowledge I gained in my studies elsewhere. I learned how to deal with difficult people to live with. "
A student Wellesley College

A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile. I've learned that being independent doesn't necessarily mean that you can exist without social interaction. And as much as an 'easy A' in academics might seem nice, it gets quite boring after a while."
