"I learned how to manage my time in order to read a couple of books, make an outline, and write an essay within a week, and how to navigate the library systems and their individual opening hours in order to maximize my time. I also quickly learned that I needed to deliberately make time for friends and reach out to them, in order..."

"I learned how to be comfortable in speaking Korean. I always had trouble getting into a full conversation when I learned back home. I knew what the person was saying, but I always felt like my response needed to be perfect and so I got into the habit of planning what I was gonna say. While in my time here in South Korea, it's he..."

"I have lived outside of my home country since I was 5 years old, and I have felt like a perpetual foreigner wherever I lived. London is incredibly diverse, international, and full of students, and I learned that I am most at home in this environment. "

"I achieved my goals of being on this program: taking design classes that are not offered at my home institution and living in a Scandinavian country and exploring other European cities. In that aspect, I'd say the four months were successful. However, if I could choose again, I'd choose a full immersion program rather than DIS, ..."

"I learned so much about Spanish culture, the language, and how to live in a foreign place. I made incredible friends and had an incredible host stay. "I've seen so much China and learned so much about its culture. It was the right balance between chill and "yes you're still in school". Honestly the experience is what you make of it."
Rosanne H Wellesley College
"Making personal connections here was the most valuable part of my experience. The program was more academic in nature, but being able to make friends was the best part of it. I also gained so many insights into living in a particular part of India, about how India is seen in the eyes of young people my age, about real hard-hitti..."

A student Wellesley College
"I wanted my study abroad experience to be a time of exploration and self-reflection, with less focus on academics than I have at home. I only had three classes (unless you're in the sciences, you'll likely have 3 classes max), and was pleasantly surprised when one of them ended up being my favorite class of all time. The other t..."

"My language skills improved quite a bit, and I learned so much while living in a country so contrary to the US, and different in mind and spirit from the West and the particular way of living and thinking that I have been used to.
