"I learned a lot about the Galapagos Islands and the importance of conservation. It was definitely one of the best experiences of my life and I would recommend it to anyone."

"Studying abroad will allow you to study topics that interest you in a new light, meet people from all over the world, and change your perspective on things you never even knew you had opinions on. I wish studying abroad could be mandatory for all students. If you are willing to go out of your comfort zone you will make lasting m..."

"I was very fortunate that I had the chance to be immersed in the Turkish culture and language for 5 months in one of the most spectacular cities in the world so that I could learn more about my Turkish heritage. I was also lucky enough to meet a wonderful group of students while abroad, which included Americans, International st..."

"I gained a new sense of confidence, a greater understanding of my position and privilege as a citizen of the US, and an appreciation for the abundance of resources that I have. I also gained an incredible group of friends that I know will be in my life for a very long time. It was definitely worthwhile. I learned so much about m..."

"I didn't realize until I came back how much I had changed while I was abroad. I learned what to prioritize in life and what made me happy. It was definitely worth every hardship and existential crisis!"

"It was definitely worthwhile. I had no previous experience with Arabic, and was able to learn some basics. "

"I learned that cultural dynamics often vary. What is taboo or sensitive to say in the US may not be the same in the UK. People are generally friendly wherever you go. Schools like SOAS are gems for diversity and cultural exchange."
Victoria Y Wellesley College
"I enjoyed it immensely and it was definitely worthwhile."

"It was difficult moving to a new place with little of the language and no one I knew! Though it took quite a while to settle in, I'm really grateful for the time I spent in Paris. Traveling around Europe was also life changing, very worthwhile!"
A student Wellesley College
"I enjoyed meeting other study abroad students from other schools and connecting with them, as well as having the ability to travel so easily. Experiencing a completely different education system was also very interesting, and I realized that I definitely prefer the American system. I'm really glad I studied abroad, but if I had ..."

"It was beyond worthwhile. I wasn't ready to leave. "
A student Wellesley College
"I can write essays more efficiently and am better at organising my own work time. I know more about the ways I learn best, and how far I can (and can't push myself). It was a difficult year in many ways, but ultimately a very rewarding one. "
A student Wellesley College
"I had a semester to focus solely on math, which made me see that I really do want to go to grad school. I was also able to live more independently than I had before, which helped me grow a lot as a person. This was definitely a worthwhile program."
A student Wellesley College
"My experience was absolutely worthwhile, and I miss it all the time. It showed me that I can happily live abroad for an extended period of time, and gave me more confidence living only in Spanish. I was able to travel and see more of the world, and I made amazing new friends."
A student Wellesley College
"I pushed myself academically, harder than Wellesley ever could have done. Socially I didn't have to do much, because work took up all my time. I was quite lonely for a while, but once I found my people I had a couple of wonderful months. It would not have been worth it to me to go for less than the whole year, and I advise al..."

"I learnt how to be happy and balanced in an academic environment. I learnt about the life outside stress culture."

"How to love living in a new culture"
A student Wellesley College
"Studying outside of an established program meant that I was on my own, more or less. While this was daunting at first, I appreciate how it forced me to step outside of my comfort zone. It was definitely worthwhile. I loved being a student in London, and felt very connected to the city."
Eloisa C Wellesley College
"My experience was definitely worthwhile. My language skills definitely improved, but more importantly I learned a lot about daily life and culture in Putin's new, multicultural-ish Russia under sanctions."
A student Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile to spend a semester in Scotland, though spending Wellesley tuition for Edinburgh education and lack of personal attention was pretty disappointing. "
A student Wellesley College
"I enjoyed living in Copenhagen with Danes and the chance to travel. Adjusting to or getting out of the aspects I didn't like taught me a lot about myself and my preferences. "
