"I gained new insights into other cultures, became comfortable with travelling on my own, and made lifelong friends."
Gaufreliege Wellesley College
"Study abroad is as much about the in class experiences as it is about what you do outside the classrooms. Study abroad gave me a more confident voice. I learned what I liked and did not like and how to go after the things I wanted. I learned it's okay to change your path in life. I met people from many places and that you meet y..."
Marcia F Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about myself, and I learned a lot about the rest of the world. I didn't realize there would be so many international students form all over the world. I barely spent any time with Americans."
Tali M Wellesley College
"My experiences abroad cannot be sufficiently summarized in just a few paragraphs, but I'll do my best to share the highlights. Edinburgh is such a unique place and is at a pivotal moment politically (with the September 18th Scottish independence referendum coming up). As an American abroad in the UK, I thoroughly enjoyed my time..."
Leigh P Wellesley College
"I improved my spanish skills, and fell in love with Argentina. "
Nicole B Wellesley College
"My study abroad was about self-discovery and cultural exposure. Though I was very disappointed by the academics at HKU, I knew going in that it would be very different from my liberal arts education. At a certain point, I decided that academics would not be the focus of my study abroad and instead concentrated on meeting people ..."

"The tutorial system, though difficult, encouraged me to learn so much. Many of the topics I chose were very specific topics that a smaller university may not have offered, so being able to be tutored from tutors all over Oxford University was great."

"Absolutely explored London a lot!"
Yu Z Wellesley College
"I had a lot more time to myself, and lots more free time than at home, which helped me to grow a lot; I became more confident, adventurous and self-sufficient. I made a few really wonderful friends. I fell in love with travel and want to go everywhere!"
definitiveleigh Wellesley College
"Budapest is so liveable and interesting, and I learned so much about Hungary - the history, culture, politics. Hungary is rarely discussed in world politics and its history is little known (to Americans anyway), which is too bad since it's so checkered and absolutely fascinating, particularly its role in the Soviet bloc. It's al..."

"I would only recommend this program to students who really understand the demands that will be asked of them. My courses were very thought-provoking and enjoyable, but they did consume the majority of my time abroad. Luckily, Cambridge has a very long spring break (4-5 weeks), when I was able to travel and have more of a traditi..."

"Waking up in Bath was waking up happy! The pace of life there was so wonderful, it totally changed me. I also gained work experience and incredible travel memories, in addition to close American friends. I wouldn't trade my experience for the world."

"I learned a lot about international living and about Spanish culture during this semester. I had a great time, and it was absolutely worthwhile"
A student Wellesley College
"The ECCO program was extremely worthwhile because it gave me the chance to become fluent in Italian by requiring me to use it on a daily basis and in a variety of settings. I also learned valuable information about Italian history, art, literature, food, music, and culture! "

"This was an amazing experience and absolutely worth it! "
A student Wellesley College
"Intellectual maturity was the biggest thing I gained from my year abroad. In addition, it has helped me figure my area of interest for grad school. I'd say it was definitely worthwhile. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to initiate and keep a conversation going with strangers."
Alice L Wellesley College
"My experience at LMH was definitely worthwhile. Academically, I flourished, because a large amount of the work there is self-guided, but with weekly or bi-weekly meetings with tutors (either individually or in pairs) to review the work closely and provide advice and critique. Socially, I found it easy to make friends, because ..."
kathryn.geoffroy Wellesley College
"It was great to get a new perspective on my major and be able to live in an environment very different from Wellesley. I think I gained a new sense of independence and really benefitted from meeting many new people and traveling around New Zealand. The hiking around South Island is pretty accessible from Dunedin and made for man..."

"There's so much that I gained from my experience that I cannot write it all in a small box... However, I would do it a million times over. It was extremely worth while. "
Maria S Wellesley College
"I greatly appreciated the culture here in Australia, and think it was worthwhile; however, the rigorous school schedule made it very difficult to be able to travel and experience the whole country. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned to be more independent and how to navigate a city. I learned how to cook my own meals, and how to help build community through cooking."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained independence and was able to travel internationally for the first time and live in a beautiful city, but lost a semester of great academics at my home institution. It was worth it because living in Europe as a college student, free from most responsibilities, is a singular opportunity that everyone should take advantage..."
A student Wellesley College
"I definitely learn the importance of languages as I traveled around Europe and while living on an international campus. "
Thuly T Wellesley College
"I became much more fluent in French and learned how to live independently in a different culture. It was very much worthwhile."
