About

The London Semester Programme allows students to study and intern in London for fifteen weeks in the fall or spring. In addition to taking academic classes at a British university, participants will build business connections and gain cultural understanding through an internship with a British organisation.

Participants in the programme will undertake an internship that has been carefully selected for them, which matches up with their academic programme and future goals. we work closely with the interns and employers to ensure that the interns are able to gain valuable experience and build skills relevant to their academic programme and their future careers. Interns will have a direct supervisor to closely monitor their work and provide one to one support. The participants undertake an unpaid placement for 20 hours per week, and will attend three work placement seminars over the course of the semester. Academic credit will be awarded by Birkbeck, University of London upon the completion of the internship.

In addition to the internship, participants will be gaining academic credit through classes. Participants enrol in two classes with Birkbeck, University of London, and will be able to select from approximately 18 different course options. Transcripts for these courses and the work placement will be issued by Birkbeck, University of London.

AES staff will assist you throughout the application procedure, including applying for your UK visa and during your stay in London. AES is also able to provide housing in central London if required.
