It was beyond worthwhile. I love Barnard I love Columbia I love New York City but a semester away in a new country with new friends a different language and new experiences everyday was incredibly refreshing and important for my college experience. I wouldn't say it opened my eyes or was culturally enriching, but I did have a great time getting to see a part of the world that I otherwise might not have ever seen. I didn't learn how to be a better global citizen, but I did notice cultural differences among the different countries I visited, and how they view tourists. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
About to enter my senior year of college I felt pretty concrete and set in my ways. However, studying abroad showed a side of me i didn't even know existed and was able to expand my personal perception and beliefs even further. It has taught me that I am someone who needs to constantly be traveling and experiencing new cultures ... - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
Studying abroad was one of the most worthwhile things I have done. To be able to live with my host mom and have her teach me so much about the language and the culture, to travel as much as I did to so many amazing places, and to make a few good friends in a sea of immature Americans, were really life changing. I am so glad I ... - Trinity University View Entire Review

My study abroad experience was fabulous! I could not have asked for a better time or city to live in. My eyes were opened to another culture that began to feel like my own, despite the differences from my culture. I grew an even deeper appreciation for the Spanish language and have gained the confidence to use it much more of... - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

definitely worth while. i like traveling and i have done it before so i already sort of knew what to expect. however, staying in one place for 7 weeks proved to be a slightly different situation. i definitely earned a lot more independence. which is what i wanted. i also had enough time to really get to know some people from spa... - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

Studying abroad has made me want to travel the world. I realize now that there are so many place I want to go still, and I hope to one day have the opportunity to do so. It also has made me interested in teaching English abroad in another country if grad school doesn't work out for me next year. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

Absolutely. My program was overpriced, but not as expensive as many programs I looked at. The 6-week program is perfect for someone looking to get the benefits of studying abroad in a short amount of time: in my case, I'm a big homebody but love to travel, so it was just the right amount of time away from home. I feel like st... - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I enjoyed studying abroad, but it did not change me or my future plans. I had lived abroad before and had had many of the experiences of learning to travel and be self-sufficient in a foreign country already. Barcelona was very touristy and very Americanized feeling and though there were a lot of places to seek culture, I did no... - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
It was worthwhile and definitely once in a lifetime. I grew in different ways than I thought I would. I didn't learn as much Spanish as I was hoping but I grew as a person and have a better world outlook. View Entire Review
