Of course! Language improvement. Made many international friends. Learned many interesting things about central Europe and European culture. Had an opportunity to see the real differences between cultures. Taught me that many more things exist in the world than I could/have actually imagined. Chris18 - Austin College View Entire Review

I improved my German language skills, discovered how another people live, and tested my ability to start in a new place. I would do it again despite the less than satisfying intellectual experience in the classroom. Amy R - University of Rochester View Entire Review

Besides gaining near fluency in the German language, I made friends that I will have for the rest of my life. It is nearly impossible to explain all the ways studying abroad impacted me, but I have realized all of the different opportunities waiting out in the world for me. Because of studying abroad I am now interested in att... Kaitlyn L - Pennsylvania State University - University Park View Entire Review

I've gained so much appreciation for Austria. So much of our world's art and music have come from this country, and I didn't know how much of it did before. As a musician, it is really beneficial I think, to see how a society puts so much emphasis and has so much support for the arts. I think it will help me advocate for them in... Now I definitely want to study abroad again, if I get the chance. It changed my perception of Eastern Europe for the better. I'm so glad I did it. I had the greatest time and I'm sure that view is unaminous within our group. Devin W - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I have become more aware of cultural differences and how attitudes can be so entirely different and shape a culture. I am a lot better at handling novel situations with a minimum of frustration. I love learning about other cultures, and it was fantastic to be immersed in a different culture. Laura B - Rice University View Entire Review
The musical experiences were invaluable. The University of Hartford is completely incapable of giving a legitimate education. The experience is what you make of it. You can either take in everything the city has to offer, or study while taking a 5 month vacation. I saw many students do the latter, and I know they won't regret th... Vienna Summer - Music History & Performance: Located in the heart of Europe, Vienna is a city of about 1.8 million inhabitants that has, since its founding in the 3rd century, served as a bridge between a myriad of cultures. As an important crossroads between North and South, East and West, the city became a natural melting pot for new ideas. Out of this cultural richness has emerged a wealth of artistic accomplishments and innovative thinking—a heritage that we explore in our summer programs. Vienna has been home to many of history's greatest composers, from Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven to Brahms, Mahler, and Schoenberg. To this day, the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Musikverein, and the Staatsoper continue to help make Vienna a true "city of music."

Vienna Summer - Psychology: As the famous psychologist Carl Rogers once said, "This is where all the trouble started!" In Vienna, the birthplace of psychoanalysis and home to Sigmund Freud and numerous other legendary psychologists, you can experience both the history and practice of psychology from a unique vantage point. Explore the richness of this city’s past and present in an academic environment specially designed for the student of Psychology. The program is organized into two topics: Psychology & Society, and Health Psychology & Communication. Students examining Psychology & Society learn about the emergence of psychology in Vienna and consider closely how different methodologies today both reflect and challenge Freud's legacy. Students studying Health Psychology & Communication take a more practical approach as they explore the field of counseling, and develop skills in listening and empathy.
