I became more confident in traveling, saw sights I never thought I would see, learned a bit of a new language, and made some great new friends. If I could go back right now, I would not think twice. Mike E - SUNY - College at Geneseo View Entire Review
Yes it was worthwhile and it reinforced my plans to study European history. Thomas R - SUNY - College at Geneseo View Entire Review
I just have to go back to Siena. I totally fell in love with the city in a way I wasn't expecting. It increased my appreciation for my field of study and only heightened my desire to spend more time in Europe. Hannah P - SUNY - College at Geneseo View Entire Review
Great! Patrick W - SUNY - College at Geneseo View Entire Review
I was able to get a first-hand look into another culture that is completely different than the one that I am used to, which is something that I would never have been able to experience by staying in the US and studying it. This experience has made me even more excited to travel more and experience other cultures world-wide. Tom S - SUNY - College at Geneseo View Entire Review
About
Based at the International Center for the Study of Italian Language and Culture in the heart of Siena, this program offers some of the most innovative opportunities in Italy that work to fully integrate the education of language, culture, and service both in and out of the classroom.
The programs offered by Siena Italian Studies are a 'gentle full immersion' in Italian life for highly motivated beginners, intermediate, and advance Italian language students.
Upon arrival, all students are assessed on their language ability and are placed in a corresponding ability Italian language intensive course, which can satisfy ITAL 101 for students arriving with no Italian language experience.
During the program students are encouraged to participate in a service experience. This service experience can range from 1-5 hours a week at a variety of service sites. A list of potential service opportunities can be found here: www.sienaitalianstudies.com/semester-program/service-opportunities/.
