I learned an incredible amount about Pacific and Oceanic culture. I have a completely new perspective on life and how everyone everywhere is different but in a good way. Daniel K - University of South Carolina - Columbia View Entire Review
While abroad I gained something many people lack; self-love. I learned to love everything about myself. I learned how fortunate I am to live the life I Iive. I learned the importance of travel and how it humbles the soul. I would 100% recommend studying abroad to anyone looking for an adventure. Traveling has helped me realize h... It was most defiantly worthwhile. I learned how amazing people are in other countries, learned freedom and independence unlike anything on a normal college campus, I learned how to budget travel, I figured out which types of people I like to be around, basically everything. If I could move there I would in a heartbeat. Maybe som... Rhianna Miller - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I learned how to adapt to new surroundings, cultures, public transportation, educational styles, and new people. I gained a new perspective on traveling, having to rely on myself and my intuition instead of my family and friends, and the process of changing in my own time, as well as new friends along the way. Through my experience abroad, I learned how to live internationally and outside of my comfort zone. As a fairly cautious person, I grew to learn the art of taking (smart and safe) risks, like going for a new club meeting alone to make friends or on overnight backpacking trips. I gained valuable and enlightening insight on the cu... Joanna - University of Maryland - College Park View Entire Review
I learned how to travel on my own. I learn how interact with people more. Fernando Dominguez - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I learned more about myself than anything. I've never traveled outside of the country before so it was my first time. It opened my eyes to the world and I most definitely got the travel bug. I knew New Zealand would be gorgeous but I didn't realize how gorgeous. So clean, so safe, and so friendly. It was an experience of a lifet... A student - University of Hartford View Entire Review
It really is unbelievable how much you can learn while studying abroad, both inside and outside of the classroom. There is no better way to learn about the real world than travelling. I met so many amazing people and made so many friends. I have a newfound desire for adventure and traveling, and I have become more independent th... I gained confidence and a better way of thinking. It was completely worthwhile! Jacqueline Goodhue - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I learned a lot about my self while I was abroad. While I always considered myself independent and responsible this experience really affirmed that. I also found that I can be very resourceful when I need to be. I think one of the bigger things I learned though is that there is so much more out there to see and experience. Being... I could easily say it was the new skills I learned in CSS coding or photography or introduction courses into the Japanese and Maori languages. I could also say it's the food because I still strongly crave those fish-n-chips and $3 NZD meat pies. I'd even say all the adventure sports I did like skydiving and bungee jumping are ri... I feel like since being abroad I grew as a person and felt able to take on anything that came my way. It was completely worthwhile as I had some of the most crazy adventurous experiences ever in my life (Bungy jumping, white water rafting, swimming with manta rays). Looking back it was the most incredible experience I have had i... Haley D - College of Charleston View Entire Review

It was worthwhile. I learned how beautiful a place can be if you take care of it. A student - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I learned about what it takes to live in a place completely different then what I am familiar with. My experience taught me how to adapt and communicate with individuals who grew up in a different way than I did in Southern California. I also better understand the value of diversity! I can't say enough good things about my time abroad. I learned to become a more independent person in the things I do on a daily basis and gave me the confidence to get out of my comfort zone! I met some amazing people and I can't believe my experience is over. Can I go again?! Lauren - University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh View Entire Review
My experience was a million percent worthwhile. I love New Zealand so much and I think about my experience, the country and all my friends everyday since being home. I learned so much about myself that I would not have learned without going abroad. My sense of adventure was cultivated in NZ and I am so happy with all I said 'yes... I just gained so much knowledge about a totally different side of the world that I didn't know that existed. Made lifelong friends. This experience was very worthwhile Reginald D - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I learned so much about myself being on my own in a beautiful country. I gained a worldly perspective - how others live and what they think about the world. It was such a fulfilling experience that I walked away with so much more than just photos. I met some incredible people that have changed my life. I wouldn't have ever thou... I feel that through TEAN and my time at AUT I grew and learned more about myself-my world than any other period of my life. Going into the experience, I was nervous to travel halfway across the world to a country I had never known anyone to travel to, but I am so happy I made that leap. Between the people I met and the amazing b... Connor McGlynn - University of Southern California View Entire Review
Going abroad was definitely worthwhile, especially with TEAN. They helped me break out of my comfort zone and because of that I feel like a more confident and independent person. This experience helped me grow as a person and helped me get in touch with the adventure that I had been missing. A student - University of Hartford View Entire Review

The most significant thing I learned from my experience abroad is to say "yes" to everything. I had more experiences during my time studying abroad in New Zealand than I've had so far in my life (some of which I did with TEAN's help). These were full visceral, eye-opening, exhilarating experiences that I look back to fondly and ... Phillomina W - University of Southern California View Entire Review
