I learned a lot more Spanish grammar. I feel it was taught in a way that I have never learned before and it was refreshing to see it from a new perspective. I learned about it Spain and Europe in general. I learned how to be independent more and meeting new people outside of the U.S was really cool. Yes, it was worthwhile. I definitely improved my Spanish, which is a big plus. I am no where near fluent, but Im still working on it. I do believe the trip was worth while! It actually made me grow as a person. gmweller - University of Florida View Entire Review
My study abroad experience was awesome! In the future though, I would pick a location that has more nature, as Salamanca was a very city-oriented place. Sheila D - Western Washington University View Entire Review
I needed it for a graduation requirement, so yes, in that sense it did everything I needed. I wouldn't go back with ISA, or go anywhere else with ISA. The only travel-abroad program I have ever attended and liked, consistently, was EF tours. Spain is still reeling from their Franco-era baggage, which makes traveling there outs... Yes, but I would have chosen a more private and smaller program with less students all from the same school, and more opportunities for immersion in the language. Christina A - Ohio State University - Columbus View Entire Review
Yes, my experience was worthwhile. I feel more worldly after my time abroad. Experiences abroad have encouraged my future plans to travel the world. Marybeth C - Luther College View Entire Review
Many of the things I gained are intangible. More confidence, more self-assurance, more respect for myself and my capabilities, the list goes on. Not only did it change my view of myself and made me better, it was a blessing toward my language skills! Am I fluent? Of course not, but now I know that if I keep working my goal of be... I learned a lot about the culture and history of Spain, which I knew very little about prior to the program. I also was able to greatly improve my Spanish grammar and vocal skills. I was able to become comfortable getting around Salamanca with ease to the point that it became my home rather than just a place I was staying and st... It was very worthwhile. I learned first hand about a culture and a country. I met new friends who are amazing. I saw things that previously I have only read about or seen in pictures. I was 6,000 miles from home and I was able to live without influences from family and old friends. I discovered who I am. Josh C - Western Washington University View Entire Review

Study abroad made me more determined than ever to travel once I graduate. I loved Salamanca and want to go back, possibly to stay there for a few years. I loved learning about a new culture that had so many similarities (like school, work) and differences (like no sweet potato! and a lot more walking) Wendy Y - Vermont State University View Entire Review
I am now a missionary in Honduras. My time in Spain helped me realize all of the challenges I would face in adapting to a new culture. The language side of my study greatly aided my transition as I am able to communicate fairly well. I am so glad that I chose to study abroad and would recommend it to anyone. I'm still great fr... My experience in Spain was awesome, my roommate and I went to the same high school and due to this trip have planned a trip across much of Europe next summer. This trip really opens up the possibilities the world has to offer. To anyone considering traveling abroad, DO IT! It is an experience that is definitely worthwhile.
