Past Review Great Program!
I went to Chile because of Spanish, not knowing much about the culture. I learned so much more than I thought I would though, acquired high language abilities, learned about the incredibly interesting history of the country from people who lived through it, and formed friendships that are still strong 3 years later. If I went ba... - University of Tulsa View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with International Studies Abroad (ISA): Valparaíso and Viña del Mar - Courses with Chilean Students
It is quite difficult to summarize how those amazing months living in Chile changed my life. But the most rewarding elements all seemed to do with the people of the Chilean culture I got to know. It's amazing how you can gain new perspectives, vision, senses of humor, and ways to love others just by spending time with people in ... - Colorado State University View Entire Review
Yes. For the first I went to a Latin American country where people did not seem accustomed to english speakers (gringos). It didn't feel anti American but it was more challenging to adapt to the culture than my other abroad experiences. I have become more patient with coomunicating in Spanish and I continue to make an effort no ... - Elon University View Entire Review
I learned a lot about Spanish, Chile, the world, and myself. - University of Nebraska- Lincoln View Entire Review
The program was amazing with supportive staff and families. I became independent and content with exploring alone. I became more assertive and self-confident. I was able to ask questions without feeling stupid, which I would encourage future students to do. You are studying abroad to learn more and in order to learn one must ask... - Concordia College - Moorhead View Entire Review
I learned a lot about another culture and I learned a lot about myself. - Trinity University View Entire Review
Wow, I have learned to become more independent and how to rely on myself and became less co-dependent in the process. I've also matured and learned a lot of Spanish. - Towson University View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with International Studies Abroad (ISA): Valparaíso and Viña del Mar - Courses with Locals in Multiple Disciplines
A little over six months after returning, I still think back in amazement at the experience I had in Chile. While life has not exactly returned to same as it was before my trip, there is a lingering feeling that something is profoundly different. The sensation adds a certain richness to life, knowing that all is not as it appear... - Northern Michigan University View Entire Review
Definitely worthwhile in what I gained overall, and the travel that I was able to manage across South America as a result of the trip. - Texas A&M - College Station View Entire Review

Chile was a great experience for me. I went over there not knowing a single other person and it was a truly rewarding experience. I only wish I could have stayed for longer than 6 weeks! - Wake Forest University View Entire Review
Study abroad with ISA greatly helped my Spanish skills, as well as a new understanding of a new and beautiful culture. As a result of this program, my desire to travel and live abroad has only increased and I will be returning to Chile at the end of the month to begin teaching English. - Christopher Newport University View Entire Review
YES!!! I have no idea how to write in just one paragraph about the impact that this experience had on my life...but if I had to sum it up, I would say that I became much more independent, confident, fluent in Spanish, and flexible as a result of living in Chile for a semester. I did some very difficult things while I was there (... - University of Maryland - Baltimore View Entire Review
My study abroad experience was one of the best experiences of my life. It gave me a truly global view of things, and I would move there in a heartbeat. View Entire Review
