CIEE is a program provider offering 395 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Intensive Language, and Online Program abroad programs in 32 countries such as Italy, Spain, Netherlands, and Botswana.
CIEE is a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization that transforms lives and builds bridges between individuals and nations by sponsoring a wide variety of opportunities for the exchange of ideas and experiences. CIEE helps people develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world, and contributes to a more peaceful global community by humanizing international relations.
CIEE partners with overseas universities to provide direct matriculation options, creates CIEE courses to add to the offerings, and staffs each Study Center with CIEE-employed Resident Staff who provide co-curricular activities and around-the-clock student services. We offer quality academics with opportunities for cultural engagement such as excursions, homestays, volunteer opportunities, and internships to provide the highest quality study abroad experiences.

"My study abroad experience was worthwhile and beyond. I not only learned so much about the Czech Republic in my classes, but I really did feel as though experiencing every day life in Prague was a class in itself. I am so much more independent, have a new interest in EU politics and Central European history, and really feel as t..."

"Absolutely. The academics weren't the most demanding but I wasn't there for the academics. I tell everyone that I was there because I wanted to experience the culture and I was taking classes becuase I wanted to graduate on time. Culturally, I couldn't have experienced anything better. I wanted to be in an African country that w..."

"It was absolutely worth it! Since 2003 I have worked for a non-profit cultural exchange organization located in New York City. I sponsor J-1 visas to international students looking to come and work in the US during their summer vacations. I've had the opportunity to travel around the world to meet with university students and US..."

"My worldview has been changed permanently. I no longer look at film, people and the world from a strictly American perspective. I've learned that one can adapt to (and adopt!) another culture without feeling like they've lost something of their native culture. Just the opposite! I feel like I could never have shaped this new per..."

"I feel that Cape Town was the perfect place for me to be at this point in my life. I was in many ways incredibly independent there, more-so even than at Tulane, and I feel that I learned to rely on myself a lot more. I also greatly enjoyed seeing such a vibrant city, where cultures from such diverse areas of the world have meshe..."

"Studying in Spain has honestly changed my life. I learned more about myself in those five months than I had in the previous 21 years of my life. I am now more outgoing, confident, and open minded. I can see the world through the eyes of others, and not only though the eyes of a middle class American. After studying in Sevill..."

"My experience was absolutely amazing. I learned to fully put myself into a culture and that to be okay with feeling uncomfortable. I learned to live life slowly with no fear of the future. You will learn to love those around you, truly live in the moment and appreciate the beauty of life. "
Elaine H The University of Texas at Austin
"I chose this one because of the homestay option. I don't like to go partying and this way I would be able to use the language and hear it all the time without placing myself in an uncomfortable location. "

"Studying abroad was worthwhile. I gained an understanding of global issues that I had never experienced before. I improved my Spanish, and I got to experience a whole culture that was very foreign to me. I could retreat into my enclave of American friends and establishments, but there were opportunities to venture beyond that. S..."
