CIEE is a program provider offering 395 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Intensive Language, and Online Program abroad programs in 32 countries such as Italy, Spain, Netherlands, and Botswana.
CIEE is a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization that transforms lives and builds bridges between individuals and nations by sponsoring a wide variety of opportunities for the exchange of ideas and experiences. CIEE helps people develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world, and contributes to a more peaceful global community by humanizing international relations.
CIEE partners with overseas universities to provide direct matriculation options, creates CIEE courses to add to the offerings, and staffs each Study Center with CIEE-employed Resident Staff who provide co-curricular activities and around-the-clock student services. We offer quality academics with opportunities for cultural engagement such as excursions, homestays, volunteer opportunities, and internships to provide the highest quality study abroad experiences.

Study Abroad with CIEE
"I learned a lot about myself and what it means to be a black person in western spaces. It was also so great to be in a place where the curriculum is afro centered and the faculty black. It was worth it."
A student Wellesley College
"More global perspective on things. Experience how others live and compare/contrast to life at home and in other places. Learn new political systems and ideas and practice a language. "
A student Wellesley College
"I feel really glad that I chose to study somewhere that was not in Western Europe. It gave me so much perspective on the legacy of the Soviet Union and the political environment in Central and Eastern Europe. It was absolutely the best city ever, and every time I traveled elsewhere I felt lucky to return to Prague after because ..."

"I think I grew a lot because studying abroad comes with challenges (especially if you are traveling alone or with friends). I have never lived in a big city, much less with so much independence."

"My experience abroad was definitely worthwhile. I feel a greater appreciation for the little things that make me feel comfortable at my home university. There are so many things that I take for granted on a regular basis and living and studying in a new environment made me realize this. I also met so many amazing that gave me ne..."

"Independence, Mindfulness, and Self-Compassion"
A student Middlebury College
"I just learned not to place all my learning and growth within the rigid lines of academia. There's so much to learn from conversations with people on the street. Wisdom comes from experience and experience comes from living and seeing and breathing and struggling and fighting, all of which anyone can have. So take advantage of t..."

Lex Scott Middlebury College
"It was so worthwhile. I got a very different perspective, not just on America, and living abroad, and the work culture at my home school, but also on myself and what is important to me. As much as Japanese culture excepts conformity, Tokyo as a city somehow forces you to be yourself by finding the pieces of it that make you ha..."

Natalia Marques Wellesley College
"travel as much as possible"
A student Brandeis University
"In my program, I was surrounded by American students from all around the states. This reminded me that there are people who have drastically different ways of life than me--people who don't necessarily value the same things that I and my peers at Brandeis do. It was disappointing, and eye opening, to hear the harmful things comi..."

"A more international perspective and cultural versatility"
Elijah Farrales Truman State University
"I learned more from my experiences traveling and visiting clinics and hospitals than I did in any of my classes. I had to function independently and cook my own meals and learn how to use public transportation. I think it would've been a lot easier with more help and preparation from the program staff, but I definitely grew a lo..."
