Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"It was definitely worthwhile. I learned so much about religion, the Middle East, and even my own identity."
A student Boston University
"Of course Yes. I've experienced the difference in many areas and got some perspectives to see widely and academic learning was also so good."
A student
"I study Political Science so being in Israel gave me a good learning experience about politics in the Middle East. But it is not just about what you learn in the class room that counts but what you learn out of it as well. If I can offer any advice I would say go and talk to everyone you can: Arabs, Jews, the Druze, everyone and..."
Aaron Boe University of North Dakota
"Challenging courses that really helped me not only learn about the host country and the conflict that has plagued it for so long, but also provided inspiration for potential further research for my Senior Thesis and other important projects in the future. Eye-opening exposure to a side of the conflict I had never seen before, w..."

It is definitely worthwhile and if I could afford a whole year, I would have taken the opportunity to do my exchange for two consecutive semesters."

"A wealth of knowledge of the Italian culture, people and history"
Brenda Garton-Sjoberg Western New England University
"I gained not just a new life perspective, but found independence in the little daily things. I learned the most not inside the classroom, but on the streets of London. I left behind my experience and life back home, living everyday in the moment and challenging myself to do something new everyday. "
A student DePauw University
"Don't set your expectations too high. I feel like I had very high expectations of how amazing London would be so then had difficulty settling in to the culture as it is different than Australia. I think it was definitely worthwhile though as I have grown a lot as a person I think."
A student University of Westminster
"The qualities I gained from this incredible experience are infinite in number. I continue to discover new great things I learned with each passing day since my return. Such an adventure is priceless. "

"I learned a lot about myself, especially being away from my family. I felt like my internship didn't give me many opportunities for my major, or for cultural experiences. However, everything else was wonderful."

"It was very worthwhile. I learned that I could be independent and live away from my home and parents. I learned that I could live in a big city and navigate public transportation. I learned that I could work internationally as well."

A student Alfred University
"I gained so many things including life long friends and memories. I learned a lot in my classes as well. Apart from school I learned a lot about my self and the kind of person I want to grow into. This experience was absolutely worthwhile. I would recommend it to anyone and I would do it again in a heart beat. "

"I gained a knowledge about how other countries operate, learned about myself. "
Michelle Miloscia Pace University
"I learned a lot about independence, and working without being pushed. I also was put into an environment where I was able to deal with issues on a macro, advanced level - in contrast to how information is typically spoon-fed at Middlebury - which I think was immensely valuable. I made good friends in another country that I pla..."

This experience has taught me that life is an..."
