Direct Enrollment/Exchange

|
Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and Ecuador.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"i learned so much i dont think i could express it all in this word box. I learned about cultures, languages, myself, beers, europe, the transportation systems. I learned to enjoy life and not take happiness and the little things for granted. But i would reccomend getting a bike once you get here. Spring and summer are expone..."

Dale E Loras College
"I spent all of my time working one-on-one with my professors. It was great because it meant that I got to learn about exactly what interested me, as well as hone in on particular writing skills that I felt I lacked. The professors themselves were incredibly learned, interesting and, for the most part, kind. I'm not sure I cou..."

"I learned to get by with less stuff. I saw many different ways that people live across Europe. I also gained many new friends. Studying abroad was definitely worthwhile. If I did it over again I would probably think about going somewhere a little more exotic, but London is a fantastic city with free museums, lots of shows, and a..."

"My Chinese improved so quickly and dramatically I still haven't processed the idea that I seriously would spend days and days without speaking a word of English. I am planning to try to recreate many of the dishes I got to taste in China over the next semester because it was so healthy and delicious. I was homesick a lot of the ..."

"I loved being abroad in London: it felt like the beginning of my ascent into adulthood. The independence I had and the accessibility of a social life and travel made me feel empowered and helped me solidify my wants and my personality. I am very fond of the friends I made and the classes I took. If I could change it, though, I w..."

A student Wellesley College
"It was generally worthwhile, although what I really enjoyed was having the time to travel rather than the program itself. The two six-week long breaks and the limited class time commitments meant I could go a lot of places. I went on Mediterranean cruises (go with a lot of friends if you do--it's more fun and cheaper, and it o..."

"While I was abroad, I grew into the person that I am today. I am a strong and independent woman and before I studied in Israel, I was sheltered and did not realize how much more was out there in the world. The lifestyle, culture, and sites of Tel Aviv are incredible and if I could, I would do it all over again, even the summer h..."

"Obviously I learnt a lot about the language (but that's the point of my degree, isn't it?) but also the culture and living style. Spent a lot of time visiting the country and saw wonderful places. I also met great friends and very nice people from here and there (basically all around the world, being an exchange student makes ..."
