Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I learned a lot about myself and my relationships back home. Some weeks were much harder than others, but I feel much more independent. Before coming here I had no idea what I wanted to do in life, and I am very sure now. Its hard only really having all the international students as friends because we all speak English together,..."
A student Presbyterian College
"Yes it was extremely worthwhile, mostly the area, city and people, but also the program. Most other classmates are all college graduates and all they want to do is intensive chinese, all the time. If your agenda is slightly different than this it may be strange, but it can still be an amazing experience in an amazing country/"

"If I could put it into words, it wouldn't be worthwhile. I gained an appreciation for people from all walks of life and realized that attitude toward visitors says a lot about a person and country. "I learned how large the world really is. I have always lived in Columbia, SC which is relatively small and while I had traveled while growing up I was not prepared to truly live in a city of millions of people. I think this aspect of my trip was the most eye-opening of all the things I experienced. I would say that because of..."

"I learned so many things about the way the world works and how if we are interacting internationally we cannot assume that someone knows what we are talking about: because there are truly fundamental/core ideologies that differ depending on where someone lives and experiences life. This trip taught me a lot about tolerance and ..."
A student Guilford College
"I learned that I made all of my international friends before I left home by helping them with their study abroad experience at my university. The best times I had abroad were the times I spent visiting them in their cities. I learned that I don't know how to make new friends when I have nothing to offer them."
Thomas M Presbyterian College
