Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Absolutely worthwhile! I did not want to leave Argentina. It actually broke my heart to say goodbye. The people changed me, my experiences changed me, an the culture as a whole changed me. I miss it dearly everyday, and cannot wait to return. It definitely gave me the "travel bug" and I plan on volunteering abroad as my next mis..."

"Yes defiantly! It made me a better person and more independent! It opened my eyes to new ideas and goals, possibly teaching in other countries! Every culture is different but when they come together you get something amazing!"

"Again, I wish I could give a 10 star rating. Italy changed my life in every possible way. I met great friends that I still keep in close contact with. I learned so much about myself that I didn't even anticipate tapping into. I learned from my classes, I learned from the Italian people, I learned from my new friends, and I learn..."

"I loved my study abroad experience. It pushed me to be on my own and show that I was ready for the real world. It made me fall even more in love with the city and see things that not every person gets to see if they do not live there. My Uncle who has been there many times now comes to me for where he should go when traveling..."

"Going abroad was one of the best experiences of my life. I got to experience an entirely different culture as more than just a tourist. I actually lived there and created a life for myself. The people, the city, the tapas, and the overall atmosphere were so pleasant, sophisticated and so entirely un-American! I loved it."
Lauren H University of California - Los Angeles
"I have changed my academic focus to an international track. I wish to one day move to Europe and hopefully back to Barcelona! I have been enriched to see how things work in another country. When in Spain, I witnessed a strike and was surprised at how everyone came together for a common cause, which I respect and value."
Breanna R Northeastern Illinois University

"My cultural awareness expanded greatly from my abroad experience. Americans live in a bubble and it was so amazing to hear what other people opinions on politics, pop culture, business, etc. were. You learn so much about other's culture that it inevitably makes you a more open minded and accepting person (which is never a bad ..."

My experience guaranteed my future of traveling everyw..."

"This was certainly worthwhile. My cultural understanding of Mexico was deepened, my Spanish improved (especially my academic Spanish), and my academic understanding of my field of interest is now much deeper. I also got a useful head start on my thesis research, which is already paying dividends. This experience has not chang..."

"I grew up a little bit while I was in Scotland. I became much more independent and learned a lot about myself.
