Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I understood a better view of Israeli culture from an inside's perspective-life, school, people, and definitely politics. I lived with a Palestinian from the West Bank, and that alone helped me change my views of the Arab-Israeli conflict, something I've been struggling with my entire life, and even moreso now. Living here as de..."

"I have learned an incredible amount about other cultures. Travelling to Bali, all over Australia, New Zealand, and having lots of friends from Paris, Sweden, Norway really opened my eyes. My academic interests were broadened. I read books by Plato, Freud, Machiavelli and surprisingly enjoyed them. This changed my life, and I am ..."

"My experience abroad is one I will NEVER forget. If I could do it again I have no doubt I would. The only thing I may change is going to a different university that is closer to the nightlife areas, but other than that, I am in LOVE with Seoul! I have been so happy with my experience abroad that I am already considering anoth..."

"I have become much more confident in my abilities and overall sense of self. Studying at Kansai Gaidai has changed me for the better. I am 100% satisfied with my experience and cannot wait to go back to Japan. I have decided to put off graduate school for a year in order to participate in JET because of my experiences. As cliche..."

"I found that many times I was automatically judged based on where I was from. My experience made me realize how important it is to communicate and learn from people from other countries. It is important to see how other countries tackle their problems and how other countries view how the Unites States tackles its problems. This..."

"I was able to gain understandings of how people and lifestyles from other countries work. How they celebrate and interact with each other and foreigners. It was a splendid time and I will do it all over again if given the opportunity. It has changed my view on the world and I now would love to have a job where I can go back to E..."

"Definitely worthwhile. Turkey is a very interesting country, especially at this time in EU negotiations and the "Arab Spring". I was able to see a country that is divided between two cultures and its response to both. Turkey is a country that most people really know nothing about and is surrounded with a lot of misconceptions. Y..."

"The trip was worthwhile as I was able to be a part of a totally different culture and lifestyle for nearly three weeks. I learned that language barriers are not to be intimidated by because speaking is not the only way of communicating. That was a major lesson I learned. "

"Although my study abroad experience was filled with less-than-pleasant incidents—particularly my frigid homestay—it was worthwhile overall. I didn’t really make many close friends (as it was difficult to form relationships with the French students and many of the Americans there weren’t very intellectually stimulating for me), b..."
