Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, Venezuela, The United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"My experience was very worthwhile. I gained confidence in my adopted culture and language and through interaction with students, locals and the friends I made I learned a lot about how Mexicans, but specifically Xalapanoes see the world and some of the big issues in their country and the world. Academically/future plan-wise I ..."

"There were several dissatisfactory and frustrating aspects about the experience that I believe could have been easily remedied, but despite these frustrations, the experience was worth it. The opportunity to practice German and live in a country where travel to other parts of Europe was easily available was excellent. The exposu..."

"I learned so much about the world, and moreover MYSELF! You discover your weaknesses and strengths, especially when it comes to meeting new people and being in a completely new place. Studying abroad, no matter what country it is, will open up your mind, and make you see how completely shallow the American way of life is (unfo..."

"Yes. I feel silly answering this question, it's a bit too broad and vague. I mean, I lived in an entirely different country and witnessed a thousand things which were different from the U.S., and a thousand things that were the same. You take both and learn from them. That's all I got."
William B Gettysburg College
"My study abroad time was very worthwhile. It reminded me that there is a bgiger world than the Rice campus and gave me more confidence in my future plans."
Jessica S Rice University
"I think that it was worthwhile and I don't regret my decision. I just was a little disappointed that it was too international. I came to Japan hoping to experience a completely different culture and wanting to experience culture shock."
Anastasia A University of Northern Colorado

Andrew H Clark University
"I am such a better person because I did this. I went to Valencia to learn Spanish, but I accomplished much more than this. I gained the best friends I've ever had and got to travel to France, Italy, Morocco, and all around Spain. I had the time of my life. "
Charlotte M The University of Texas at Austin
"The study abroad experience was invaluable, and I'm extremely happy that I went for a full-year instead of a single semester. After my time abroad, I feel that I am more able to understand the Chinese perspective, including the Chinese idea of "face" and "losing face". I also learned how to be assertive in a country of over 1-bi..."

"I had the time of my life abroad just traveling all over Turkey, making new friends, and being in a completely foreign environment. I gained a lot from this program and I now feel comfortable traveling to most other countries after experiencing a country like Turkey for 6 months. "
Timothy D Clark University
"I think coming to London was a great experience! But i feel that i could have just stayed at OSU and taken the same class for cheaper and probably learned more. "
Tanner S Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"I wouldn't say that my study abroad experience has changed my future plans. It did however, make me realize how similar Ireland is to the US. All those stereotypes about the Irish just aren't true and it was very easy to make friends with the locals."
Kaitlin B Longwood University
"It was awesome. It was good to see academics from a different country. I made lifelong freinds there."
Francesca A Clark University
"Yes it was definitely worthwhile. I will probably never again get the opportunity to travel all over Europe and visit a variety of countries in the same time period. I am much more aware of different cultures and customs. I also feel I am a seasoned traveler at this point and can navigate any train station or airport alone. My a..."

"It hasn't changed my plans but I have a new appreciation for German culture and media. I would like to keep the language skills I have acquired and improve on them. "
Shu-Yen W Wellesley College
"The study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile. I met a lot of new people and made new friends. The experience was once in lifetime and I am very happy that i chose to do it. Regarding future plans, I could actually see myself working and living abroad."

"Singaporeans are just as smart as Americans, but will get paid half the salary. In indonesia, you can hire a servant for 200 per month. You get get a computer programmer, for 400 per month, and the best programmer for 2000. This means, 30 thousand in Indonesia is like 150,000 in America. In Cambodia, a policeman will be your tou..."
