Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1872 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"It was the best experience of my life! I gained a better understanding of the Chinese culture and have gained several close friends. I also gained more confidence in myself and my abilities."

"People are a lot alike, no matter where they are from. When I discovered differences, they were more of a chance to get to know people better than obstacles. This trip was the best thing I have done thus far. "
Michael Freed Park University
"My year abroad was beyond worthwhile. I gained a sense of individual accomplishment, growth, and pride in my academic work due to the tutorial system. I also learned how to have a more balanced social life with my work since your weekly schedule is largely self-organized. With such a flexible schedule I was able to open my sched..."

"I learned a lot about my subject, and did a lot of travelling on my own. "
A student Brandeis University
"I was definitely worthwhile. I would not be able to spend that much time abroad, especially in a place as far as New Zealand, at another point in my life, so I was really grateful to be able to do that. "
A student Middlebury College
"My study abroad experience made me even more independent than the two years I've already spent at college. I also got much better at solving problems. "

"The thing I value most that I gained is friendships. I met many international students and a few locals and will have people to see and stay with all around Europe when I do my future travels. I also gained a grander perspective on the world and the knowledge from my courses. I learned two new languages (Italian and Russian) and..."
Logan Kirk Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"I gained a sense of perspective about my home institution, both in terms of it's relative size, and relative rigor. I learned about Irish politics and concerns among Irish university students, about social movements happening in Ireland right now, and what Guiness should actually taste like. I gained a better sense of myself and..."
A student Wellesley College
"Networking is a phenomenal resource that all should take advantage of. Traveling also encourages yourself to meet new people and go out of your comfort zone. "
Zachary D Brandeis University
"Absolutely. Gained a ton of independence, some fantastic friends (mostly the other exchange students), and experiences I will remember forever. Oxford is amazing - my friends and I enjoyed doing the classic activities like punting and attending formal halls, and just walking around the town is breathtaking. The chance to be in E..."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to roll with the punches and how to survive living alone. Though I spend a lot of time working on class assignments and really put in a lot of effort in that area, I feel like I didn't really learn much. I learned how to budget my money and how to plan successful trips. I learned how to travel alone and to feel saf..."

It was absolutely worthwhile."

"I think I just learned a lot about general problem solving because in a different culture, things may be different than you're used to and you have to learn to adapt. Very worthwhile!"
A student Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"It was very much worthwhile. I think being in a new environment can help test certain aspects about yourself. I learned that I can rely on myself for most things (something I don't necessarily do at home). "
A student Middlebury College
"This experience taught me a lot about myself as a person and how to be more independent and confident on my own. Traveling around Europe enabled me to see and meet so many people who were different from my small town in Kentucky.
