"I only wish I could have gone to an actual Austrian university so that i could have met Austrian professors in my field. I learn a lot about the Swabian dialect of German and the culture in Swabish Austria. I gave me new insight into the different cultures within German-speaking countries and gave me ideas for future research ..."

"Being in Istanbul made me realize how a predominantly muslim country can have a successful secular government and be in a position to be a world superpower. The culture is beautiful, and though many want Turkey to be "Islamisized," no change needs to come to how Turkey conducts itself. If anything, they need to refine old polici..."

"I wad really just wanting to see the cultural differences between latin americans. This gave me a better understanding of the culture that I may use in my career."
Melina M Kentucky State University
"I feel like a much more well-rounded and worldly person. It has made me want to pursue a TESOL certification so I can teach English to people overseas and I'd love to go back to Berlin and work and live."
Emily T Eastern Kentucky University
"I'm definitely going to study abroad again. The other students on my trip is what made China one of the most wonderful experiences. We explored our host, city, had adventures and became really close. The program itself was mediocre but my teachers were great. I would highly recommend going to China, just not with KIIS."

"It was the first time that I had ever been out of the country and it was nice to experience another culture and see the the similarities and differences."
John M Ball State University
"The country was amazing, the experience overall, good. The program itself, limited. Again, one thing my friend and I realized, especially being with a group from the southern United States, was the level of discrimination in the U.S. that people don't notice until they go to a country as accepting as Germany. "

"I learned firsthand about the culture of Mexico, and got to meet some great people! The food was good, and different than the food we assume to be Mexican here. The heat was intense, but a good climate change overall!"
Mary M Northern Kentucky University
"The study abroad experience was extremely worthwhile. My academic interests are now more internationally focused, and I feel that the experiences gained from this trip have taught me many life lessons that can't be learned through normal summer experiences. "
Cole K University of Louisville
"As an undergraduate, I spent a year abroad so I was well aware of the benefits of studying abroad and this program was no different. I was amazed at how much of my college French I was able to use, and I learned a ton of new vocabulary and phrases along the way. Living abroad changes your perspective and helps you to grow as a p..."

"I learned about myself and about the world outside of the US. It was an amazing experience and I am interested in returning to study or teach. I've been able to incorporate my time there into real world connections in Middle School Social Studies' lesson plans."
Heather Y Eastern Kentucky University
"I believe the program was very worthwhile. I gained an entirely new perspective on myself and my own culture, learned much from my interactions with others, and believe myself to have matured through my travels. The credit from the classes I took is a nice bonus."
Alexander B Bellarmine College
"Absolutely! I brag about the places I have been and the classes I take all the time. "
Jennifer W Northern Kentucky University
"It was a very costly dream come true. Costly in so many ways."
Austin W Murray State University
""Was your study abroad experience worthwhile?" This just seems like such a strange question, because it feels so silly. My experience abroad did three very distinct things for me: First, it allowed me to pursue a line of education that was not offered at my undergraduate university. While abroad, I was able to take courses ..."
Maggie C Ball State University
"Because I had never traveled abroad before my trip, this was a big stepping stone in my life. This trip taught me that I am much more courageous than I had thought, and that I have the ability to adapt much more quickly than I ever imagined. It certainly was a struggle at times to adjust to living with a new family and roommate,..."

"This experience opened my eyes to a different culture and part of the world. It was definitely worthwhile! "
Kyra H Northern Kentucky University
"Spain helped me grow up. I was in a new culture that I knew almost nothing about, and I still had to get an experience out of it while learning and having a good time. I was also thousands of miles away from anyone I knew well, so I had to throw a social aspect into that. While I never really acknowledged any of these things ..."
