University Information
The Office of Study Abroad supports Brandeis students who participate on any of our 300 approved programs in some 65 different countries around the world.
On average 40% of the junior class studied abroad during the academic year while still more students took advantage of various international opportunities in the summer. There is a huge diversity of transformative experiences that Brandeis students have engaged in abroad including studying biodiversity conservation hands on in Panama, conducting ethnographic research on sacred figures in Mongolia, interning with Parliament in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and interning in special education classrooms in Sydney, Australia to name a few.
Whatever your story, journey or adventure is destined to be, come by our office to learn more about the steps to going away!
Additionally, by logging in to Abroad101, all approved programs will be tagged with an "Approved" badge.

"On a personal level, I learned how to be independent and okay with not knowing anyone/living in a new setting. Aside from learning a lot in my classes, I also learned (from living at the center) about sustainable living and efforts we can make to truly make a difference. "

"Absolutely worthwhile. I met all sorts of people and learned a lot about the world -- and America -- from them. I was also able to learn more about myself, too. It was sort of like living freshman year all over again, which sounds like a nightmare, but it gives you chance to explore something new about yourself, something you di..."

"The biggest thing I gained was so many friends that I am really close to. I also hugely improved my Japanese skills. This experience has opened my mind to the world (met so many people from all over the world while I was in Japan) and also made me decide to live in Japan in the future."

"The experience definitely opened my eyes to a new culture outside of the US. It was interesting to learn about and see the values that make up Danish society, which are so different from the US. It was also interesting to hear the Danish perspectives on societal and political issues. The experience was definitely worthwhile. "

"I can't express just how much I loved my experience. It was a very intense program, and forced you to put yourself out there in so many ways and be truly vulnerable. I am so thankful for that. I learned so much about comedy, writing, performance, Chicago and The Second City, but also so much about me. I was able to study under s..."

"It was incredibly worthwhile. I learned a ton about Spanish culture from all my classes, from wandering the city/country, from living with a host family, from interning in a Spanish work environment...the list can go on! I also gained independence as I figured out how to navigate a foreign country on my own. Not to mention my Sp..."
