"I learned a lot not only about myself, but about other cultures. It was definitely worthwhile and I am extremely happy that I was able to study abroad. I became more independent and a bit more secure with who I am. I wasn't insecure before I went to Italy, but after this past semester, I know who I am. I was able to learn a lot ..."

"I gained a ton more independence and travel experience. I gained friends that I love to this day and learned more about the human experience in terms of friends you don't need to bother with. I learned about art, theatre, and the histories of the cities themselves. I learned about taking opportunities instead of letting things p..."

"It was absolutely worthwhile. I have gained so many relationships that I hope will last a lifetime: my host family, loves, friends, housemates, Americans, etc. I have proven to myself that I can accomplish a lot, that I can flourish in situations that are challenging, that I have a whole life ahead of me to do whatever I want an..."

"I learned to live where my feet are and enjoy and appreciate the moment; Family is central to societal functioning and a very important unit; You cannot push your own cultural assumptions on others; Cultural relativism is critical; There are bigger things to worry about than sweating the small stuff"
A student Ithaca College
"Independence, and yes."

"I am a much more understanding, patient, and confident person from this experience. My study abroad experience was defined by the abroad portion rather than the study part. Just getting to class was a new experience. There is a difference between traveling to different countries and living in a new country. Living in Vienna, I w..."

Alex M Ithaca College
"I also spoke about this a bit, but as a shy person going abroad by myself is completely out of my comfort zone and it was about testing myself. I wanted to see how well I could handle a completely different environment then I am used to. I learned a lot about myself and that I can do whatever I want. I also was able to make some..."
Sabrina S Ithaca College
"Yes. It is hard to explain how fulfilling this experience is until you go out there and do it yourself. I became independent and look at things a little different now. I am definitely interested in learning about different cultures more than I was before and would love to keep traveling. "
Cristina N Ithaca College
"YES!!!! It was honestly one of the most difficult things I've ever done but so incredibly worth it. I got homesick a lot but I'm glad I went. I learned and was exposed to so many realities of life that we don't usually see when we're living our own comfortable lives in the US. Studying abroad gets you out of that comfort zone a..."

Robert G Ithaca College
"Gained a better understanding of societal and governmental pressures in Central America. Gained a further comfortability with traveling and immersing in different cultures. Gained an interesting lens from which to reexamine our own culture and society."
Jesse B Ithaca College
"I had the best time ever while studying abroad in London. It literally transformed my life in an incredibly good way, and I will never be the same as a result. I met amazing people, did things I never thought I would do, ate things I never in a million years would have imagined I'd eat and came away from it with so many unique..."
