A student Middlebury College
"1. I learned that the United States is an amazing place to be and that I'm happy to call it home; Europe is not a better place to live (at least for me!). 2. I learned to study ahead of time for exams by doing a little work some days of the week in the fall and spring (while the exams were in late April/May). That preliminary s..."

"Yes. Living in Europe is a valuable and great thing. There is so much culture and history in a city as international as Amsterdam, and I have never felt so independent and free as I did living abroad. I really grew from it, and learned how to live on my own and take care of myself."

"I gained a massive appreciation for the wonder of nature. New Zealand has an extremely low population density, especially on the South Island, which makes it unique to the States in that so much of the country is available for protection and a lot of it is now. I also learned that New Zealand is not a particularly green country,..."

A student Middlebury College
"I got a good experience with some great people and I got to see what research is about. I don't know if it was worthwhile because, even though I did learn a bit, I feel like I could have learnt much more at my home institution."
A student Middlebury College
"I gained a lot of confidence and the feeling that I can cope with any situation. I felt for the first time that I understood a completely different way of looking at the world still entirely consistent with itself. I learned a lot of language. I realized how much where you grow up irrevocably shapes the way you look at the world..."
Amy S Middlebury College
"I learned how to cook for myself. Actually learned a lot about Renewable and Sustainable Energy, which is really cool. Wouldn't say it was as worthwhile as it would have been if I had been in a foreign language program or in a completely different type of society."
A student Middlebury College
"I got to travel an entire country and see every terrain possible. It was definitely worthwhile and I would highly suggest anyone to go to NZ. I learned a lot about the culture and the great outdoors. I loved that it is not very populated. The open country and mountains made the experience amazing! "
