"I learned to travel independently throughout the country. "
A student Middlebury College
"It was a good experience, but I felt very isolated because of the strikes (no routine, no class setting to make friends). So I matured in a lot of personal ways. I also feel more confident traveling and making decisions. "
A student Middlebury College
"My speaking ability improved, my listening skills improved dramatically, and I gained a new outlook on Jordanian culture and Arab culture more broadly."

"Independence, a sense of self, a home base to travel all over Central Europe, tons of lifelong friends... I really could go on."
Rebecca Duras Middlebury College
"The most important thing I gained from my time in Chile was the ability to communicate comfortably in Spanish. While there is an opportunity cost to staying a full year abroad, in the end it was during the second semester when I solidified my closest friendships and came to feel truly integrated in the university community. "

"Yes, it was definitely a worthwhile experience. I think most of all it's just learning to be okay in uncomfortable situations, and perhaps even more than that, expanding the scope of my comfortability so that I'm more comfortable in situations in the future than I would be if I never pushed myself out of my original comfort zone..."

"Attending a public university in Buenos Aires exposed me to how an educational institution can apply feminist theory to it academic structure, as well as how effective student-led demonstrations are generated. I learned how to navigate cities and how to uncover unexpected, exciting experiences. I miss the art scene in this city!..."

"I gained and learned a lot. It was definitely worthwhile; it's always worth it to put yourself in a new perspective and try to understand more of the world from a different view than you are used to. And of course, just going to new places you learn so much about the world around you."

A student Middlebury College
"I was very independent while abroad which I think was good for me. I think some of the best parts of being abroad is just being able to live the day-to-day life in another culture. I also loved being able to visit a ton of Parisian museums (mostly free, thanks to being a local student). My french skills definitely improved, most..."
A student Middlebury College
