"My experience was definitely worthwhile, I was able to learn about and immerse myself in Danish culture while exposing myself to various other European sights and cultures."
A student Middlebury College
"I loved being right in the heart of Europe. It allowed me to travel easily and learn about a culture I had not previously studied. I got a lot of exposure to the Czech culture by living in the heart of the city and wouldn't have done anything differently. "

"I experienced a very different learning style, where students are expected to be independent learners. I was challenged by it, but it also helped me hone my essay-writing skills. I think my semester was definitely worthwhile."

"Definitely a worthwhile program. My Spanish became fluent enough that people stopped immediately assuming I was from the U.S. My social skills improved a lot. I learned more about Cuba than most people ever consider."

"I gained a lot of knowledge about living in London, something I would like to do later in life. I learned about SOAS, a school I am considering for graduate work, and I gained valuable historical and literary knowledge on the country and continent that I am from (South Africa//Africa), something that I was lacking great access t..."

"Great being in Europe. The program was disorganized, but it was awesome shooting on 35mm."

"It was worth my while in every way imaginable. I learned to be self-sufficient, how to live away from home, how to cook, how to travel by myself and really enjoy it. I learned to be happy while being alone and how to live in a city. I met people that gave me hope for my future and made me smile until my face hurt. I felt so much..."

"I learned more biochemistry in one year at Oxford than I would have in four years at Middlebury (or any other American university). I learned a lot about the British and made many friends that I hope I'll keep in touch with. It was worthwhile enough that I'm considering coming back to Lincoln for a graduate degree."
William N Middlebury College
"My year abroad expanded my world literarily, literally, and personally. It was more than worthwhile. "
A student Middlebury College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I gained a lot of independence and confidence. I got a lot better at meeting new people and making friends with people who are from a different culture than me. Finally, I also loved traveling - I'm definitely inspired to adventure more in my backyard and want to go abroad again somewhere else."

"Regarding the above question, if I would choose the same program: While I did not enjoy this program and felt fiercely opposed to this country's policies, I am not sure that I would choose a different program. While perhaps another program would have been less devastating, it would have been so because I wouldn't have been so ex..."

"Studying abroad absolutely turned my life around. I decided to participate in a full academic year program because I was unhappy at school, and not in a healthy mental or emotional state. I knew I needed a change, and Ireland provided that and so much more for me. I met some lifelong friends in my program, especially because we ..."
A student Middlebury College
"I think that being abroad reminded me that I live in a very intense bubble that thrives from students overcommitting and thinly stretching themselves to accommodate others. Abroad life helped me to take a step back to see all the different works at play and evaluate what things that I do within my everyday life at my home univer..."
