"A brief understanding of how "normal" is so different across cultures. Not much to do in the town, difficult to keep yourself entertained"
Matt R Tufts University
"I gained new experiences and memories which really matured me to take on more responsibility. Now I feel like I can plan more adventures because the whole experience was all just one spontaneous moment after another."

"I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who is interested in Environmental Studies or Biology; I believe those specifically interested in Ecology or the Galapagos would benefit immensely from this program. It is also a good program for those who do not want to miss a semester at their home institution by studying abr..."

"This program literally changed my life. It changed my intended career path and how I chose to react to different situations. The relaxed life style that people have while still maintaining a ton of success showed me that I could do the same thing."

"Every class I took with IES was extremely informative and challenging enough where I still remember what I learned to this day. From traveling, I gained a broader perspective of the world, a passion for exploration and even filming, and more understanding of myself as a person. I definitely came out of this program more mature, ..."

"I now understand how study abroad really is a learning experience and so much more than an extended vacation. At first, I was a tourist in Santiago, but after a month or two of living there, I developed a better understanding of the people, their values, and the culture. Near the end of my time abroad, I thought I had mastered l..."

"I can speak French a heck of a lot better than I could before. I had incredible experiences exploring Paris and other cities when I traveled, but the program was a total waste because I feel as though I learned nothing and received few benefits. I would have been better off going to Paris on my own for 4 months than doing the ..."

"The research part was GREAT, which is why I would recommend the program to others. You should really consider doing research (not an internship)."

"Without a doubt it was worthwhile experience. I learned heaps and I got to a point with my language skills that I can say I will never forget the language and even learned it to an academic level. "Overall, it was an amazing experience. Sorrento was one of the most welcoming and interesting places I've ever been to, and I will definitely be back. The school was always helpful and the administration was super nice. I never felt as though I was scared to ask for help and they made sure to reach out to us. My class and intern..."

"Berlin was amazing! I loved my classes I learned so much about the culture, history, and architecture of Berlin and Europe. I enjoyed being about to travel so easily all over Europe. Being taken by the program to places like Austria, Hungary, and Turkey was wonderful. I went from knowing only a bit about architecture to feeling ..."

"I loved living with international students in Saint Petersburg. It's an amazing city and being around people who weren't American was just as culturally enlightening as living in a complete immersion environment. Also, we had way more freedom than students who were in the city on programs designed for American students."

"AIT is truly the best option if you want to study abroad as a computer science student. You will take classes of a similar level as your home university and get credit for them, while still getting to explore a different culture. I could not speak more highly of this experience, and encourage anyone interested to apply!"
