"I certainly learned how to be more independent. It's one thing when you're at college, and you have at least the option to go home to see your family, and all your close friends are nearby. But when you're abroad you definitely have to learn how to cope with independence when you don't really have the possibility of just driving..."

"This was my first international experience so I would say that it was extremely worthwhile. Being in a culture so different from the United States was eye-opening. "This experience has taught me so much about the world we live in, the thoughts and values of people from different cultures, and allowed me to grow as a person. "I think the best things I gleaned from the experience was more people skills and a more developed sense of independence. "My level of proficiency in German is now C1.2. That would be a monumental achievement in any other language, like Spanish or French. However, German is spoken almost exclusively in Central Europe and by people who are typically bilingual or even trilingual, which makes it much less useful than other foreign languages. I gaine..."
